highwayracer's Blackfoot restoration

Post by highwayracer »

hello All,

I decided to post pictures of my blackfoot restoration. I restored this about 6-7 years ago...before the frog re-release. I haven't painted the driver yet, but everything else is there. This one was a real basket case. There are only 2 after market parts on the truck, everything else is stock.

1. CRP rear bearing carriers (diff bearings)
2. Traxxas Hawk wheels...I have the originals, but I wanted to make the truck look more scale.

In my opinion, everyone should have one of these. Enjoy :D

Looks awesome. I'd love to get a Blackfoot. I'm holding out for a re-re. I haven't looked into that Blackfoot Extreme, but I know I don't want it. Anyway, great build.

Great looking restore. Just be careful because the blackfoot had a ton of available hop ups, pretty soon you will be dumping tons of cash into this truck.

I had another blackfoot that was built with new aftermarket parts. I took me a while, but i decided to keep this one stock and I sold the other one last year. It had the thorp diff with the sliders, the pulling attachment and a ton of ther goodies that couldn't bee seen in the pics:

You guys are leaps and bounds ahead of my Monster Beetle resto.
Well done, those are both really nice 'Foots. :D
The Blackfoot I got for Christmas in 1989 was a ball,I loved that truck and it jumped so well...Even with the friction shocks.
Gotta order up some re re Frog screw bags to freshen my MB.
