Wild One Project

Post by bearrickster »

Well I am jumping in with both feet here is what I am starting with? no much, but a great deal thanks again Mike!! Please fell free to give me your input. I can only hope this come out 1/2 as nice a Rizzo's cars. I am feeling orange its my favorite color and all of my cars have some orange on them. I am not going to do box art or anything close. I am shooting for something real looking or scale looking?

She was rode hard and put up wet!!

I don't think I'd try to dye it. The reason the RC10 "plastic" dyes so well is that it is basically nylon. There is no nylon in the Tamiya plastic that I know of. It's not porous enough to accept the dye well. Anyway, great looking start you have there! I really like to see the old cars brought back from the dead, just like the real ones. :)

Well the chassis painting didn't go so well, so its soaking in Castrol Super Clean it will be striped in the morning. Orange Glow Kryrlon is not a bright Orange it floresent and goes on like chalk  so it will be black tomorrow, and I think I will do the cage and body orange, and maybe a green set to, with the chassis black I can change up the body color pretty easy.

I striped the rollcage I know I have a new one but I thought it couldn't hurt. Wow this cage is red plastic that was painted yellow, lime green, orange, black and then red again but it striped great I think I will paint them different colors and see what I like better.

I think the orange looks pretty good. The original is red and I always thought that looked sort of flat. Before you change it, get the body done-- the orange may pop a little more then.
Looking forward to more.

I like the orange too, at least from the picture. The right accents on the rest of the car could really make it stand out.
