Re: Jammin Jay Winning Edge VHS Tape
I've got a different VHS tape, the assembly manual for the junior2/t. It has some neat footage. If anyone can explain how to get video from VHS to internet I'd love to post parts or all of it.

Re: Jammin Jay Winning Edge VHS Tape
just had these videos converted from my new bud over in the UK. winning edge tape is amazing showing the RC10 chasiss's being machined, dogbone lathing, motorplate pressing, great vintage paint jobs, etc etc. Roger Curtis explaining the car, great PRE-prototype pictures in there of his cars... Getting a High Res DVD in the mail this week, cant wait to watch it.
here is 10min preview on youtube alistair posted up there

Re: Jammin Jay Winning Edge VHS Tape
All parts are up now. Add "&fmt=18" onto the end of the web address for higher quality (less blocking, full smoothness). Download using Firefox 3 and free "Video Downloader", choose the .mp4 file. This D/L will be perfectly smooth video. My PC sometimes doesn't playback from YouTube with perfect smoothness, only perfect from the .mp4 D/L'ed file. For some reason youtube's new HQ button isn't working properly. LOL.
After I had done the original copy ready for sending I managed to have another attempt today and I seem to have stopped most of the slight horizontal oscillation of the picture on the RC10 video by using my Panasonic NVHS930 VCR which has a built in digital Time Base Corrector (TBC) which corrects these kinds of problems and I have used it before on tapes much worse than this, to make a wobbly annoying tape into a very enjoyable one!
When I get time I will upload the slightly improved video to youtube. Bare in mind that it takes my PC a good hour or more to convert each 10 minute clip as it has to be run through deinterlace then resize then crop (plus transcode MPG2->MPG4) in AVIDEMUX and it also takes an age to upload each clip (at least 1/2 hour) on my PC, in which time I can't use my PC for web surfing as it locks the connection (no throttling unlike on P2P apps.). So bare with me, I'll get there.
I merely wanted everyone to be able to at least see these very hard to obtain videos. They are a very important piece of RC history and great for anyone with an interest in vintage RC buggies. I know I love them. LOL.
Cheers,
ARG.
