Slash, served up Ivan Ironman Stewart style.....
Just finished the body after months of draggin my feet on it. And yes It's a runner. Ran it to victory in a club race against 10 other Slashes about 15 minutes after taking these pics.

Wow They both look better than Mine. what wheels are those? I like them. I have been thinking about changing mine but as my local track closed its just a yard beater now. Its a shame its only had 6 packs ran through it. Were did you get the decals??

Those look like the Proline Hardcore wheels. They are true beadlock wheels also.
For a different look, you can ez-off the stock wheels, chrome strips right off and they are a nice shiny black underneath.
Here are mine:

Nicely done! Ivan Stewart is my all time favorites since I was a kid! I'm looking at doing my Slash with the Proline wheel and tire setup. It looks like I can pick up the wheels and tires for $100 total off of ebay brand new. I'd love for someone to make an old school Toyota SR5 body, but I won't hold my breath.

Re: Slash, served up Ivan Ironman Stewart style.....
I'm not impressed with the Proline tire to be honest. I have seen several Slashes using them at our local track, no advantage. If I am gonna drop 100 on tires/wheels, it needs to be better performing, not just bling bling....
Keith, is that a frog?

Yep, thanks for that but it would look pretty strange on a Slash.

Is that the Pro-Line body or the stock slash body? Is the back detail transfers or paint? Great looking slash whatever I really like it. This is what AE should have come out with or something close to it.bngiles wrote:Just finished the body after months of draggin my feet on it. And yes It's a runner. Re: Slash, served up Ivan Ironman Stewart style.....
Thanks for the compliments, fellas.
I got the Toy decals from a Hilux monster racer decal sheet that I scanned. Resized them and made them myself to keep from having to use the originals.
The rest of the small ones I used out of my collection of decals.
The Proline wheels I had my reservations about. Love how they look, but I have yet to find a true beadlock wheel that holds on with the rigors of racing. Till now. They performed great, no blown beads. I use the original tires and foams after melting them off the rims in acetone. Yes, the foams held up after the melt. (proline take notes) We are not allowed to use anything other than original rubber as per our spec rules, so I have no idea how it would perform. Surprisingly, the stock tires have gotten great traction on all surfaces we have ran them on.
Rick, the monster energy set looks great. Who makes that wrap?
Ivan Stewart lived up the road from me where I grew up. I bussed/dishwashed at the age of 14 at the Descanso Station to fund my RC habit. He often came in to eat at the restaurant, since it was the only one in town. Not a very big guy, maybe 5'10", but boy he could pack away the food. It wasn't uncommon for him to eat 3 plates of food at a sitting.

Re: Slash, served up Ivan Ironman Stewart style.....
What setup do you run with it? What track do you run at and what is the Slash turnout on average there?JK Racing wrote:You and me gotta hook up....yours IS nicer though...
I swapped to 45wt losi oil front and rear, worked better. Shock bottom mounted on the outside holes in front, next outside hole in rear. I run a Maxamps 5000mah pack in the front position. More steering, and flies better. The body actually flies better (PL Hard Corr) than the stocker I guess cause it is about 1/2" shorter height wise. Negative 1.5 degrees camber front and rear, and about 3 degrees total toe out in the front.
Got any tricks???
