Charger Fuses?

Post by MONSTER »

I have several old Tower Hobbies Timed Chargers. The fuses have blown in all of them. They call for a .75 amp fuse, but I could only find .50, and 1.0 amps fuses when I went to Town. Which should I use, or should I just wait until I get what they are supposed to have?

Do yourself a favour and throw them in the bin (or back in the box in the shed where you found them) and go and buy yourself a peak detection charger.. :) :) :)

You will charge your batteries faster, get longer run times, and you battery packs will last longer (before needing to be replaced), especially if you are using NiMh battery packs.. :D :D :D

Cheers

Monster- I've used both higher & lower rated fuses in a pinch before. Trying a lower rated one almost always guarantees more blown fuses as they can't handle the load. While using a higher one I always monitored the temp of the charger and the battery-- and only did that when I had to for racing.
I would try the .50 fuse first and see if you can get through a charge. Then find the correct size when you can-- Radio Shack is typically where I find my fuses. Good luck!

FYI your stuff is going out today-- yesterday after work the line at the PO was out the door, so I passed.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

We should both have our stuff by Monday then. Thanks.

On the fuses, Radio Shack is where I found these. They looked at me like I ask for plutonium, when I ask about the .5 fuses. Have I mentioned before (I KNOW I have, lol) that I live the STICKS....of Mississippi, no less, LOL. They are NOT my Main Chargers. They are for the Rent-A-Track thing I want to do.
