No doubt! I wish they'd do a retro 24" cruiser in chrome. I don't ride the PFT very hard at all. I don't know any of the old tricks, I try a tailwhip now and then and ride wheelies, and jump the curb, but that's about it. I got to ride one of the retro PK's, they're pretty nice. Much longer than the old school ones, hard to pull the front end up though. They do look great.

Speaking of retro GT's, well it's not actually made by GT, but check this out, second post down on the blog:

The last frame and fork set that Knight made was $500 for the set. Kind of pricey, but they are supposed to be really nice quality, and they are made in USA.

Mel,

So I have 3 bikes. Are they worth anything? Considering selling the Haro. Kinda want to keep my kastan to ride once my son begins to ride (though he is only 7 mo.)

Here are examples of ones that I found:

Haro Monocoque- Stripped, so now just fork/frame (same bike as below, but red)

Kastan Mosh - (Made fom parts from the haro)
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/mosh/12037

Mongoose - (I still have the steel wheels. heavy bike, my first BMX.)

Not sure about the first two, they're newer than anything I know about. I'm sure they're worth something, but I have no idea how much. That Mongoose is probably worth a few bucks, but that is a bit before my time. Best bet is to check completed auctions on ebay to see what kind of price they're bringing. I must say if I were you, I'd seriously consider holding on to that Goose. If it was your first BMX bike, and you've had it for this long, you might regret letting it go sometime down the road. Figure, you'll probably get a few hundred bucks out of it, but once it's gone, it's gone. I know about 99% of the people into BMX (and bikes in general) would nearly give up a limb to be able to find one of their childhood bikes again.

Love the thread, just recently came across it all the pictures of the old school bikes are bringing up great memories of the crazy ramps and dirt pit jumps we use to make lol (the restoration MA is amazing, going to have to pick your brain about it later).

Always wanted a Kuwahara from the early 80's and have just recently started looking. They are going for a mint on ebay and one was just snapped up on craigslist for $150, I just wish it was me.

In my stumblings I came across the following listed as a Raleigh vintage bmx but it doesn't seem quite right (I didn't even know they made them back in the day), does anybody by chance know what this might be?

going strictly from memory, it looks like a diamond back to me, although i have no idea why somebody would want to put raleigh stickers on it.

it probably is what its listed as. hold out for what you want.

ra272, great looking Quad 24, I saw that posted over on vintagebmx.com. I think you definitely improved the looks of an already good looking bike by adding some gold to it. It's hard to top the black/gold combo on a bmx bike.

Toaster/Hoopty, I thought Diamond Back too when I saw those pics, based largely on the color. But, I see it also has a loop tail, I'm not sure if DB had a looptail freestyle bike. Check out bmxmuseum.com, they've got pretty much every model from every make in every color listed on there somewhere. Look up Raleigh and then DB, you're bound to make a positive ID through that site. I gotta agree that you are much better off waiting for exactly what you want to come along. It will save you quite a bit of time and money and headaches. I went through well over a dozen bikes until I finally had exactly what I wanted bike-wise. The most important thing with the vintage bmx thing (or vintage r/c) thing is to be very patient. What you want is out there, and it will be for sale. Maybe not today, maybe not next month, but it will be. Just keep putting money aside for that day, and when the right thing pops up, go for it.

This is my old FOES downhill bike. I sold it as vintage two years ago after i kept it in my cellar for a long time. I used to do downhill worldcup racing 18 years ago. I will buy a Yeti ARC instantaneously if you find/have one.

Well, the pink Pro Freestyle Tour is going up for sale.

I found my bmx holy grail, and I got it for a steal. Thank you bad economy. 8)
