kyosho questions...
Ok. Was at the LHS last night and the owner picked up a used 4wd kyosho nitro buggy I believe. Its been 'hybridized' but need some info on what it is. I'm having problems with kyosho's site at this point so was wondering if there was a place I could go internetwise to search up kyosho models? This thing has been 'altered' at the best of it with an O.S.18 with an HPI 2speed 'center diff' put into it and I kinda got him into the vintage stuff now and he's wanting to put it back to a runner state and needs to figure out parts. It is definitely a 1/10 scale 4wd buggy. I can't remember the name of the buggy that it looked like but it was something like inferno p15 or something different like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Re: kyosho questions...
If it's a Stinger, you can find the MKII manual here:

Re: kyosho questions...
The Kyosho stinger had it's motor placed side to side like the RC10GT. The MK1 was chain driven while the MKII was belt driven. The stinger looks something like this:
Kyosho had another 10th scale 4wd drive car that was sold with either an RS200 or Puegot 405 body. This chassis had the motor in the center and the drive train was pushed to the right. This chassis shared parts with the 2wd Kyosho Rampage.
There was a center drive conversion for the chassis above that moved the motor to the left which allowed the drive train to be in the center of the chassis. This design later became the Inferno 10. The inferno 10 looks like a smaller version of today's 1/8 scale 4wd nitro buggys.
The last car car I can think of was an Inferno TR 15. It has the same basic look at the inferno 10, but at the same time, it was a totally different car.
I hope this information helps...

Re: kyosho questions...
ok i give defeat: GP cars are clearly not my strongest point even for kyosho. I already doubted on the stingers motorposition but the only other 4wd with center diff was the burns and that's 1/8
Maybe try the kyosho japan site and use babelfish to translate it?
I remember there's a nice but not so correct overview of their history and models on 1 site, don't think it's the kyosho US one.

Re: kyosho questions...
Thanx and great info so far but not the buggy. Gonna head in on saturday to check it out again but some more info:
shaft driven
really cheesy threaded plastic shocks
aluminum flat chassis
has top&bottom a-arms (ft&rr)/pillowball suspension
hex drive wheels
ft top plate has a molded in rx box
rear top plate has a molded battery box
really soft aluminum shock towers
front bumper that rounds up the width of the chassis but not flared out
Kinda reminds me of an associated ntc3 designed chassis the way things are laid out in it.
That site is really cool. Found alot of info on cars/parts I had or have that didn't even know what it was. Had alot of useful info on it.
