Body Mold Question - Repo or Original

Post by mrlexan »

The JRX2 post got me thinking about this...... I would like your opinions on this one. I think that there is no doubt that a repo would be defined as a body made from a reproduction mold which came from an existing body.

But, what would you guys call a body that was made from the original mold???? (just that the original mold was no longer in possession of that specific mold) Original, reproduction, original reproduction (symantics, blah, blah, blah)?

Your thoughts?

I'd say that if it was a new mold, it's a reproduction.

Original mold, then it's a re-release.

I agree with Melvins Army on this one. To elaborate,I think Re-release relates to exact tooling used previously by an OEM or tooling that is made again by the original OEM to the pre-existing specifications. 8)
When in doubt, throttle out ...... scollins
