Ya 90 is right to JFK. From new haven you're taking 95 so its JUST about that. I'm over in Danbury which is on the northern corner of the handle of CT (on the NY border) It takes me about an hour with normal speeds to get to JKF from my house and the track is 30 mins from my house.

If I can get away from work, I'll run my Cougar 2000. Probably a little newer than you were hoping for, but at least it's a Schumacher.

I do need some parts! I'll sort out a want and need list and PM it to you as soon as I have the time to dig through my Schumacher stuff. Thanks!

I guess I'll be running an Odd couple, a Losi XX and a RC10T truck, unless I can get confirmation as to what year the XXT was released

2 tire questions:
1, I'd like to set up one of my entries to be totally retro except for the batteries and spektrum receiver. The old tires are rather firm compared to modern rubber, and I would not want to do damage to the racing surface. Will using old-school tires be ok?
2, somewhere above I saw suggested buggy tires, what is the 2.2" tire of choice for the trucks at this track?

I would PM Mark Westerfield and ask directly.. maybe post the answer here for other as well. I'm not sure if he checks this everyday or not and I don't have as good of an answer for you about which tires will work. I myself would prefer to not run vintage tires, first and foremost bc I feel they would tear up a very nicely surfaced track, but secondly bc they are very hard to find and I wouldn't want to wear out tires that there are no more of. Also I really don't htink they would even remotely work. I feel its more appropriate to let Mark decided what's ok as he is the owner and we are all guests.

The track is VERY hard packed and smooth I would say that a tire similar to what he suggested for buggies would be good, a low profile or bluegroove style tire would be a good start.

I'm going to run vintage tires (probably CRP Dynamites- might use some Parma ones for the 4wd) only because that is what I have. I don't have any modern buggys- just stadium and 1/8 scale- so I can't justify getting 2.2s and new rubber for cars that see the light of day a few times a season. I'm looking forward to just seeing these things on the track again!! (Our local vintage class has had 4 entries max.)

Man, I gotta get building.... or at least REbuilding.... ;)
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

I doubt ANY tire will damage our track surface, it is as hard as concrete!

The old hard compound stuff really isn't going to be competitive - if being competitive is what your looking for (some just want to see the old cars go).

Open tire rule stands, vintage or current.

What seems to be working best at out track currently

2wd - Jconcepts Rounders in front Double Dee's or Bar Codes in the rear
4wd - Jconcepts Double Dees all around
Truck - Pro-line Edge in front with Double Dee's in the rear, or Losi 8 ribs (red) in front with Losi King-pins (red) in the rear.

I'm working on getting a video of my RC10 Team Car in action on the track!

Thanks Mark. It's been a few years since I had to gear anything for offroad, or at least geared so it goes fast.
