No they're not the same. I'm sure they're similar but it needs to be a ROAR approved system
Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***
I was just looking through the scanned section and realised my old 2wd race buggy might actually be legal. I just can't see that car as "vintage", but I didn't make the rules.
Cougar 2000 as seen in this pic: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii225/minichamps11/Schumacher/Adverts/Cougar2000advert.jpg
Then next version was the Cougar 2000 1995 Specification, which would make mine a 93-94? I'll do some internet research and post back.
Sidenote: I'd love to have a NIB if anyone has one.

The cougar 200 was released in 1993, so it is eligible for the vintage nats.
The Tamiya Toyota Prerunner, the Ford F150 and the Chevy S10 were released in 1994, so not eligible.

They are not Roar approved. I talked the them and they said they don't really have stock equivalent and don't plan on haveing one. I know that hacker has is Roar approved and have a stock equivalent.mikedealer wrote:are the castle creation sidewinders motors at all equivalent to a 17.5 motor? or do they make a 17.5 motor.esc combo?
But I might be wrong, worth checking for yourself

I've been looking into the brushless thing myself, here is the link to the roar approved list
http://www.roarracing.com/approvals/brushlessmotors.php
I'm still undecided as to what to get. I'd like to go tekin but they don't have an approved motor.

Hey, that's not fair, you can crank the timing to the moon on that thing!
I learned how to do that about 5 minutes before the ROAR 91 locked timing motors came out!

They do have transponders but also can accept personals for those who have them.
