Know of any good places to have anodizing done in the US?

Post by rc-stu »

Does anybody have any recommendations for custom anodizing (personal good experiences etc)? I'd like to find a place with decent rates and a good color selection. thanks for any help.

Where are you located? I did a google search for anodizers and it came up with a list of 6 or so within a 3 hour driving distance. I did some research on setting up my for my own but it came to alot of money fast for just the little I was gonna do with it so now I gotta do some calling on the ones I have 'locally' myself. Would like to see some names here myself. Wouldn't mind sending it away to someone that had some references first.

I used Dunham Metal Finishing in Orange CA to re-anodize my World Car Chassis.

This article helped which explains the process and the quality of their work.

Keep in mind that most shops are used to doing very large batches so your quote may be twice as much as the actual final cost.

hey, that's a few miles from me (i'm in irvine). do they gripe about doing small orders and how much did they charge you? did they have a good color selection? (i know it's just dying the anodizing so it's strange when they don't).
