My Plaza Japan order arrived this week, so was able to get a couple jobs done the last couple evenings

Using these



And these



I got the shocks built and fitted, after dying them black







I also opened up these



And was able to complete the rear end

Couldn’t resist so had to sit her on her wheels











Just servo, RX, Transponder and paint to go. The ESC will need programming to zero boost and timing as its needs to be in Blinky, although this ESC doesn’t actually blink

So very cool! I was looking at that chassis a while back, love that the kit body still fits fine. Makes me want one even more now.

Slow progress, but it’s now just waiting on some alloy posts as I had an issue with a body mount screwing into the FW post where the nerf bar swings away.

I decided to fit some thumb nuts on the front of the battery straps, allows quick loosening to slide the battery out. They are a bit bigger than I thought when I ordered, but fit fine



Servo mounts and brushless low profile servo (mid range from the far east, so far seems very nice for the money)



And fitted



And finally, AMBrc Transponder ready for racing



Once my post turn up - ordered before the servo - i will be able to call it finished.

... I had an issue with a body mount screwing into the FW post where the nerf bar swings away.

Argh! I completely forgot those were self tapping body posts when I swapped over to the metal standoffs for the kits. I guess I need to go back to the nylon posts Sorry!

I was actually using a machine threaded aftermarket body post, but I still managed to snap it off (The threads aren’t great on the ones I’m using, needed to use my dye to recut the threads on another I used with an M3 nut). I prefer the metal stand off’s TBH, you could potentially do the same as the rear most body post, that seems to work well?

I don't guess this will be legal any longer for a 'classic plastic' class? It's so cool though that I want to make my Nova Fox into one.

Yeah not sure about that, but should still certainly be eligible for vintage racing. It still carries the same suspension components and geometry.

Yeah it's still definitely vintage. Definitely a much easier chassis setup to work on especially with the electronics. I forgot how much of a pain it is to access the tub.
