I asked mip. They wrote, “ We are in the process of completing development and manufacturing of the 2025 MIP 4-10 Legend Conversion Kit for RC10's. Become a MIP Insider if you are interested in buying one of the initial 500 limited run.

He sold out of both the JC Racing and Fan units during this past race.

GoMachV wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 12:54 pm We will have Factory Works chassis braces and aluminum pulleys in a couple weeks, I think you will find them worth the wait. Don't need to be used together, but the larger pulley has more belt wrap so it slips less, and the stiffener lets you run the belt slightly looser since you don't have to account from flex

Note that chassis flex and bending is pretty bad with the rerelease chassis in general, it's just more apparent as you can hear the belt skipping on the 4wd. With the new chassis brace if you are taking monster jumps you could well bend or break something else. These old pans just were never meant for the jumps on modern tracks. We would bend our stock chassis back after races back in the day and those were way smaller jumps.
A friend from hong Kong uses 2 long turnbuckles as braces. But the front supports end near the servo mounts instead of mounting to the pan sides. Will the turnbuckle idea work if the turnbuckles mount to the pan sides?

Mini is on here as well, but not regularly anymore.

Not sure on that, you would need to try it and see. Our brace does not use the new rear brace pieces that AE added

Not too happy with these battery hold downs. They stick up too far, and the body doesn’t sit on the car flush.

Our lipo mounts will fit the chassis just fine and will support shorty as well as low profile shorty packs

Guys thinking of stuffing this in my 4wd:

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hobbywing-combo-max10-g2-80a-esc-3652sd-4100kv-blk-g3-motor-1350917

The esc is Big.. I got one in my fan on the back bulk head.. bit of a pain! Just wondering if anybody done it?

Not had time to see where it could go, defo can't fit where I put it on the fan because of belt.

Wouldn't know as the Max10 stuff is aimed at the basher market as they aren't race legal. For a budget setup I would go for the Hobbywing QUICRUN 10BL120 Sensored G2 as it's basically their old top spec ESC repackaged with the SkyRC Ares 13.5T. It would have about the same speed once tuned but more controllable and certainly a lot easier to route the sensor cable through to the motor.

PopalongRC have an interview with Craig Drescher regarding the RC10 4WD, with a very vague explanation of its history, with his own interpretation of an inline battery in his personal buggy.

Interesting video. I noticed that he not only kept the blue springs on the front he also put them on the rear. I recently watched a vid where the builder swapped the blue front springs for shifter ones on a carpet track.

4 Top Cats in that video! :D

All of the talk about legality for vintage racing and which class the RC10 4WD should run is fine, but, in the end, if people want to run them, they will be accomodated.
