It's incredibly easy to get started nowadays. The modern machines do most everything for you besides cleaning the bed off and loading filament. If you decide you need a new hobby one day it's totally worth it!

Probably will pull the trigger eventually..but will need advice on printer, program, filament, etc.

This is true. I just had my 11 yr old nephew print me a couple trim pieces for my '71 Mercedes. I need to get me one!

But if he has a printer, he can print as many stones as he wants

This is absolutely great stuff, thanks a lot!

I will print and mill the parts.

A few more questions, do you have any information about:

- teeth number und pitch angle (14,5 or 20 degree) of the idler gear,
- profile and teeth number of the belt,
- teeth number of the pulleys,
- length of the CVD ("pin-to-pin")?

You just saved me from buying an RC10 4WD, I will convert some of my old RC10 with homemade parts. :D

Many thanks, LusBus

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

With exception of the belt (HTD 573 3m) and drive shafts (have not had time to model them yet) the step file contains all of that info. It would take me time to go through and research all that for you, but that is the purpose of providing the files in the first place. Not trying to be mean, I just dont have the time to research it when I already spent a full day doing it the first time.
