Re: MIP Legend rere
What is he doing with the nose tubes?
Is the nose plate flattened out some, and he just needed longer ones?
Or is he using them like jacking bolts to tension the belt?

I think he reduced the kickup and needed longer tubes.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 11:06 am What is he doing with the nose tubes?

Re: MIP Legend rere
As with the original 410, you have a drill template to move the nose plate forward. About halfway between a long and short wheelbase setting. You can tension the belt a bit with adding spacers as well though

Re: MIP Legend rere
Okay, so I get the why.
But really? Why not spend a couple dollars and make new tubes, instead of something that looks janky.
If you had the early style nose tubes, you could drill and tap a third set of holes in the side.
Maybe its just my ocd.

Probably doesn't want to modernize it too much. This is just the prototype but he also doesn't want to get too far from the original.

Re: MIP Legend rere
Any mention of an estimated production date? The prototype is nice to see, but bringing that to a final product is a different story.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

It sounds like it will happen pretty quickly, couple months maybe. Definitely by the Vegas race. You can tell the front case is molded and same with the steering, but the hubs and carriers are machined. He makes the molds in house.

Re: MIP Legend rere
The event as a whole must have been great for everyone who attended. Watching it on YouTube probably wasn’t anything close to what it really was but some people on the FB groups were really angry with Losi and Horizon in regard's to the race. I don’t really understand why but it looked like they had lots of Losi’s on the track.

Unsure, I don't think Losi/Horizon really got involved at all, maybe that's why they are mad.Brendan2904 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:16 pm The event as a whole must have been great for everyone who attended. Personally I've disconnected the company, Team Losi Racing/Losi from the cars I used to race back in the day. They aren't the same company in my mind, they still make neat things but their focus is no longer on racing, especially 10th scale.

Re: MIP Legend rere
Yeah the reason for the anger from what I read was that Losi didn't contribute a thing to the race nor the memorial or anything really, then hopped on to post pics and take credit for all the losi cars that were there.
