So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

The Cougar looks good! I haven't run mine yet, but it is a fantastic kit. I have no doubt that it will go well.

Sorry about the ESC. That is epic bad luck; not really your fault that the download was interrupted.

I wanted to give a "thumbs up" on the C2W, but since most of the post was about the ESC failure, I thought it better to type it out. I didn't want to create the impression that I gave a thumbs up to an ESC failure.

Thanks Colt1911! It is one of those situations you just know you've 'stepped in it' and there is no going back.

It's a new day and I'm excited to drive the C2W after getting things working last night and driving in a few circles on the basement floor.

1. It needs more forward weight.
The C2W battery holder setup is actually decent to work with; didn't consider forward mounting like you guys have shown.
I had ordered the Bezerk shorty CF lipo holder piece to install which positions it lengthwise and uses O-rings to secure.
The mounting holes didn't quite line up and I set it aside rather than hack it up.

2. I should go with a 17.5T motor and re-evaluate.
With this 13.5T Trinity Slot machine I first tried 32/87 gearing
Immediately went to 29/87.

I'm in my brushless motor honeymoon phase.
I now realize why 21.5 2wd buggy racing is the standard out there.

3. Lets not forget body shell painting this weekend.

This is what I did for my c2w, it braces the chassis a bit as well as I have heard of some bending but I don't have the rear braces installed in these pics. It's all the way up against the servo but might be better mounted transverse to get even more weight forward at the expense of it being less central

:D I didn't see that on your website! Are they available to order? :D

In my experience the bending is mostly right in front of the transmission, so I would want the rear braces, too.

I haven't really finalized them yet but they will be on there soon. These pics were before I made the rear braces and 100% why I did as well haha

Ok today was a busy day

Found another Rooster Reversible and replaced the battery plug, motor plugs and receiver plug.

Cleaned up the RC10T a bit, replaced the front arms and started working on the rest of the front end. I have to replace the bumper that came with it because it’s jacked. Finally I mounted the Rooster Reversible (not the one I fixed but another I had) to the rear bulkhead.

Started working on the RC10 4wd kit.

Also repaired the Receiver plug on a Novak 410 esc for my other A Stamp but I didn’t take a picture of it.

Not all today, but I started tweaking the "Junkyard Frog".

I swapped out the original hex drives for CVD's, with the outdrives getting the Frogshot mod. I also swapped to a Dynamite 20T (previously had a Team Brood 27T).

The front end was especially sloppy, even for an ORV. So i helicoiled some Grasshopper steering blocks and opened up the Frog carriers to accept larger shoulder screws. The spacers make the steering a little flimsy but still way better than before.

The boy wanted to work on a r/c truck this morning, so I let him pick one of the Futaba FXT's that still needed electronics installed and let him pick the parts. Of course he picked the GOAT of esc's (the Rooster), a Duratrax Powerline 2WD off-road motor because it looks cool, then picked the dullest looking of all receivers, a Futaba R122JE. The Futaba S148 servo was already there, so it stayed. We took the motor and esc apart to clean them up, tested the motor and wired it all up. Also added oil to the shocks and put in a 23T pinion. Ran it around the basement floor for a few minutes, wiped off the oily finger prints all over the place and put it back on the shelf to never be used again, probably.

Raced the JRX-ProSE. Was set to finish 2nd in the main too but my car had other ideas, motor got pushed forward and bound up the gears and caused me to DNF and lose my chance at being the top 3 of the points series. I'm not superstitious but man this car is really beginning to make me wonder if it's cursed.

On the bright side it's handling pretty good. going to the 0 toe rear plate definitely gave it more steering....A LOT more steering. Possibly too much. Had to dial out a lot of steering to improve drivability before the changes the car was a bit twitchy in the turns.

I think next thing is to figure out how to fit sway bars to it. Was there ever any swaybar kits made for these? Regardless I'll probably design something.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Finished up today. Still not happy with a few things. A couple of stickers are really crooked and the wing is meh. But for right now the 4wd is done and the RC10T #7011 is done too, bumper is replaced and the rear tires are now prolines not Losi’s.

Plus a couple semi AE family shots. The SCT’s are too dirty to take pictures of right now lol!

Is the wing able to go a further back? Maybe 1/2" or 3/4" back?
