Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
Just curious, I have heard mention that a 24" feels more like a 20" when you're an adult. Any opinions on the matter besides "That's what she said." jokes? I'm not real happy with my 26" that I hardly ever *pull out.

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
I got rid of my 26” giant mb and bought a 20” Eastern Element BMX. The elements frame is sized for riders 5’8” to about 6’. All about the top tubes length. I have never looked back at the decision. I never could get used to the hunched over seating position of riding a mountain or cruising bike. And I’m 50 for informations sake.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 3:57 pm Just curious, I have heard mention that a 24" feels more like a 20" when you're an adult. Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
While I’m not anything like I was as a kid, my 11 year old has surpassed me in the no fear area! All my kids walked and talked early, but he was walking at 9 months, figured out a 2 wheel bike at about 2 1/2. His first real bmx bike was a 12” Kink Roaster, then a 16” Sunday Primer, and we stepped him up to a 20” Easten Orbit this Christmas. As a kid I got my one and only BMX bike for Christmas between 82 and 84, it was a Ross Snapper. I beat that thing to death literally lol. Little Trey is into a bunch of stuff, but the bikes more than anything, so I don’t mind buying him quality bikes.
He actually approached me the other day about “Rad”! He wanted to see it and know if I knew what it was about. I had purchased it on Amazon a while back, so he watched it, and he’s been practicing older freestyle moves since
I mostly ride when he needs to stretch his legs on a longer spin round the neighborhood, while I have been seen at the skatepark with him from time to time, I gotta be able to work for a living, so I am very calculating with my risks lol. It’s cool to just coach and video him. Our Ramps were mud piles and boards on bricks, I like to think I’m helping him progress and be safe from the sidelines
Here’s a few pics out of videos and him with his Christmas present post assembly.

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
I had old school early 80s 24" and 26" Torkers...the 24" felt more like a BMX bike while the 26" has a MTB feel..sold the 24" and still have the 26." Of course bikes all have different geometry so your results may vary brand to brand, era to era..THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 3:57 pm Just curious, I have heard mention that a 24" feels more like a 20" when you're an adult. Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
i had this torker 24" up on local fb marketplace for ages at 700 bucks. the entire bike...
no real interest other than the typical lowball 'cash today' types, but some guys were only interested in the pedals.... so being a bit wise on fudgers tryin to get something for nothing i looked em up and it seems theyre some pretty desirable pedals to have.
so... i ended up just selling the pedals for 700.
bmx collectors are not only weird but also WAY more toxic than your average vintage buggy person. after i listed my pedals on a fb bmx group there were multiple scammer posts on other groups using my images and even my fudging writeup tryin to con people.

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread
So back on page 1, I mentioned that I had no pics of my bikes. While I did eventually find 1 or 2, none were of my Haro FSX. I couldn't remember any ever being taken. A year or so ago my sister found some. I got it for my birthday in 88 or 89, so I was 11 or 12.

Not sure how to ad the you tube box like I’ve seen guys do, but that’s a link to a video of little Trey doing BMX duty lol

For those that missed Rad Day last year, they are doing it again on the 20th if a theater near you has it available. I went last year, and it was pretty cool. Place was pretty much sold out.
