RC10T eBay purchase

Post by Brendan2904 »

Just out of curiosity is this anyone here?

It’s still in transit but I am going to attach some screenshots for you all to weigh in on.

How did I do?

Any opinion on the front shock tower is greatly appreciated.

Part 2 of screenshots. Seller is from CA and it’s coming to NY USPS so hopefully Saturday it’s here for better pictures.

Also can anyone advise what’s going on with the front tire discoloration?

not mine, but the front shock tower is a stock part, they were a running change- part number 7214 late style.

I watched that one. Seemed like a decent truck. I tried to get him to sell the installed Big Jim stock motor separately but he wouldn't.

The front tires might just need a warm water, dish soap, and old toothbrush scrub. That's what I would try.

Telling you how you did would be valuing a specific car, which is kinda against the rules here.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

I will let you know if I keep the motor.

I mean, wouldn't this be a question to ask prior to purchasing?

Are you using it for a runner? The tub chassis has the normal pavement scrapes but it looks like a capable runner. It could use disassembly, clean up and rehydration. Doesn't look rusty or bent up. Always nice to see white parts on a 10T.

I am going to run it but I am a big believer in stock setups so I’m probably going to use the green label associated motor if it works.

Going to tear it down and clean it as best I can.

Solid purchase. You did great. The tires look original. Worth a replacement

I just edited this post.
You'll need a battery and that is about it. It looks like the MSC is wired up to power the receiver.

It'd be worth it to buy a shock rebuild kit asc 6440 and new shock oil 30 weightshould be fine for bashing around on a brushed motor.

Beyond that it looks complete. just a tear down and a clean should be enough.

Never done this but what effects does armor all have on the tires? If I soaked them in it will it damage them?

That rule is so this place doesn't turning into a pricing forum. He already bought it. We can congratulate him on joining the 10T owners club for a solid discount off the new in box kits.

Not sure I would recommend soaking in armor all. Usually just a good wash with simplegreen or dish soap and a wipe with armorall for display. I have heard forum member have good luck with Silicone oil for tire restoration.

You can use almost anything on these trucks. Avoid heavy de-greasers like Easyoff. Just from pictures about 95% of the truck will be taken care of with some simple green, or dish soap.

EDIT: Again, just going to edit and not get baited.
