Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
More cars arrived in the rebuild workshop this week.... this time, another couple of Tamiya TT01s, picked up cheaply from eBay.
- one is a TT01D Drift version, with adjustable upper arms and full bearings;
- the second is a stock TT01, with bushes, but with alloy hexes and prop shaft; and
- both have diffs locked with expanding foam, of all things!
So, they've been used for drifting.... no matter. The stock one will get a rebuild with full bearings added, and the TT01D will get a few broken parts replaced. Both will also get a stock unlocked diff installed up front, and I will add other bodies and update the radio gear. After that, they will be ready to go..... and go they will
Two chassis', both of which came with full electronics (working), and each with a well-used body. A bit of a tear-down shows (so far) that:- one is a TT01D Drift version, with adjustable upper arms and full bearings;
- the second is a stock TT01, with bushes, but with alloy hexes and prop shaft; and
- both have diffs locked with expanding foam, of all things!

A new in box Airtronics SR radio. Why you ask? Well as much as I liked those OG Futaba Attack's back in the day... when my parents allowed me to buy a Grasshopper in 1986 at Hobby Town in Hanover, MA I wasn't going to ask questions. I decided to wait for a cheap NIB one to come up as I'm also going to get a Grasshopper to have my original setup. I also would like to recreate this picture from 1986, my parents still live one town over from where I grew up. Interesting that the box came w/ the original receipt it was purchased Christmas Eve 1985! Likely a gift that was never used.

A few more unusual motors came in. M&Y 240RB Buggy Concept motor, Yokomo Twin Turbo 360S, and Pro-Trix 552 stock. The M&Y was what I really wanted. I hadn't seen any Concept motors before. Not sure what the 6th sticker is for.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Got some nice, rare-ish bodies in the mail yesterday...
- HPI RS4 Mini Cooper
- Frewer Racing Mini
- What looks like a copy of the Tamiya Suzuki Swift, seemingly in PETG
Very happy with the Minis, and they will go into the collection with the Tamiya Mini body I picked up a month or two ago.
Not as pleased with the Suzuki, as seller failed to mention it was a copy, and wasn't lexan.... but overall it was a great deal, so will let it go.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Score for this week....Mini pliers/wire cutters, wire strippers, 4mm heat shrink, a load of tires, foam for battery boxes, extra 14awg wire, xacto knife set (to replace the cheap one I bought a while back)...and the best, a new chair for the workshop to replace the bar stool I'd been using, so much nicer on the back.
