In and out sauce is a little fancier version from what it appears. I've only had in and out a couple times

Re: off topic: fry sauce
It's everywhere in the south. It's not uncommon for smaller restaurants to have bottles on the table.Halgar wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:08 am Not to hijack the thread, but one thing that does seem to be regional is the use of mayonnaise. Personally, I'm more of a salad dressing (mayo with sweet relish) kind of guy, but mayo is fine. My point is, I hear some regions/restaurants use it liberally on everything, the only place I ever see it in the wild is at a sandwich shop.
I'm okay with Helmans or Dukes on a sandwich, but my develed eggs only get Blue Plate.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
So I hear Raising Cane's Cane sauce is similar so i gave it a shot. Pretty good. I think a lot of places have their own version of this. I know Red Robin has their Campfire Sauce which seems like a smokey version of this.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Not exactly Fry sauce but belongs in the conversation. This is one of the more interesting dipping sauces I've tried in the past year. It's not real spicy like name implies.

Fry Sauce? Sure this isn't some weird Futurama reference?

More evidence, perhaps......

Re: off topic: fry sauce
For some unknown reason, the Hellmans vs Dukes mayo is an ongoing thing around here. For the longest time, I only kept Dukes in the fridge, because many around me spoke so highly of it, and I kinda looked at them as "the little guy." But I have this every 8-weeks appointment that I end up going by Jimmy Johns on the way to, and I always get a packet of mayo for my to-go sandwich, and it is Hellmans. I realized the Hellmans was always good on my JJ sandwiches, so one day I took the Pepsi challenge with the two of them at the house one day, and Hellmans won!!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:42 am I'm okay with Helmans or Dukes on a sandwich, but my develed eggs only get Blue Plate.
I have never tried Blue Plate. Will need to look into it.

Around here, Blue Plate is king by far. Helmans and Dukes are fighting for second (Helmans usually wins).

A Cane's just opened a few blocks away from me. I'm not typically a fast food kind of guy, but will see what they have to offer one of these days when I'm working in the area.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
Fry sauce is overblown. It's ketchup with a little mayonnaise mixed in. If the dump wants to seem "ritzy", their version is mayonnaise with a little ketchup mixed in. My kids make some for their nuggies sometimes.
Edit: Curly fries and fry sauce is what I've found to be a nearly unbeatable combination though.

Oh, I can easily beat this one! Fries and a good house made BBQ sauce! Don't bother with any store brand/off the shelf garbage, while maybe passable for use on other things, it can't beat a good house made sauce.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
I mean, let's face it, fries are really only a delivery system for whatever your favorite sauce or topping is. In lieu of better alternatives this is ketchup, if I've got a good house BBQ, then that is the elixir of choice.

Re: off topic: fry sauce
When my nephew was very young, he believed this literally. He used the same fry over and over to finish his ketchup.

I agree on the BBQ sauce for fries. Good stuff.
