I've had this RC10DS in storage for a long time. I want to upgrade the motor, esc and servo. I know I can get good advice from very knowledgeable people on this forum. Any advice would be appreciated. If there are other things that I should look such as gears or suspension please feel free to let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Don

What is the servo that's in it? What type of running are you planning to do? Is there a battery type and size you have in mind? How fast does it need to go?
Frankensteined RC10T3 / Franky Jr RC10GT-e (x2) / A+ stamp / Toy Story RC / Graphite replica / B1.5 BFG 5LTi / Clonewald / Hyper Hornet

Re: RC10DS Advice Needed
Any modern metal gear servo will be fine from budget $40 to high end $140
High amp brushless ESC HOBBYWING BL120 with tuning card (budget) $60
Any high end ESC like Tekin Reedy R1 Yokomo HOBBYWING with WiFi module
3.5 brushless motor any name brand manufacturer
Battery any 2s shorty 5000mah minimum
Tires either stock DS foam wheels/tires (eBay) or Tamiya F104 Belted Rubber Slicks on stock wheels.

Just let it be known that a 3.5 motor is going to be a rocket. Best to drive it some place that is flat and void of curbs or other obstacles
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

That kind of power in a DS is much more than the stock slipper can handle. It needs either a B4 slipper, VTS or a carbon fiber slipper disk.

Re: RC10DS Advice Needed
Yes one of my carbon fiber stealth slipper discs would be ideal, he wants a speed run car so he can either ease into the throttle or tune the ESC to be soft at the hit or down low and bring the boost /turbo in through out the run.JosephS wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 11:18 pmKidAgain wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 5:35 pm Any modern metal gear servo will be fine from budget $40 to high end $140

I’ve made the stock slippers into egg shapes with 3.5 brushless power

Re: RC10DS Advice Needed
If using a fully adjustable esc, I'd do away with the slipper for street runs.
