Made two new bumpers.....wasn't happy with the width on the first one I made a while back. The added width covers both front tires and should help protect the kingpin/graphite crossbar weak spots a bit better. For what it's worth, my chicken scratch/drawing is in the photo if anybody is interested. The TOJ body rests perfectly on the bumper when all mounted up.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Had a few minutes spare time, so got the (new to me) Kyosho 480 Gold on to the bench and gave it an internal cavity search. \
Glad I did..... that doesn't look right!
Comm looks in pretty good condition...
Not sure the whole thing is meant to look this 'twisted' though.....
No matter, put it all back together again, remembering this time to put all the shims and washers back in their correct places
.
Spun it up on my Duratrax ICE's motor break-in setting (7.4v, 10 seconds), and it sounded pretty strong, although only drew 1.2A.
If I did comm skimming, I'd get this cut, and it would be as good as new (for a twisty Kyosho).... but I don't cut comms, so will instead find a comm stick, give it a quick clean, and that's job done.

Well, that's good news..... thanks mate. For me, motor maintenance usually involves grabbing another one from the pile, and seeing if it worksjuicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 4:09 pmThat's about the only way a 25T quad is gonna happen.Incredible_Serious wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:58 pm Not sure the whole thing is meant to look this 'twisted' though.....

Oh, my bad. I thought you were talking about the windings. After rubbing my eyes and looking at it again, I see what you are talking about.
There is such a thing as a skewed armature, but I doubt that's the case.

Slowly piecing the chassis together. Need to figure out the plan for the front and rear axles.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I just finished cataloguing a pile of RC mags that I'm going to try to sell for the family of an old friend.....
Seven boxes and four bags of mostly RCCA, Aussie mag Racing Lines, and Japanese mags RC Magazine and RC World. 416 magazines all together, including 24 complete years for various magazines....
The Japanese mags are mostly in Japanese..... but they have great pictures, especially if you're a Tamiya fan

I finally got an early concept for a car wall holder working. It's huge and i"m going to have to iterate a few times to keep cars from dropping on my head.
