Yes, totally agree, they added a lot to the character of the cars during that time, even though most racers didn't use them.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:52 pm I like the slogans that Tamiya has on the buggy spoilers. Being Nuts is Neat, Hoppin Mad, Anytime Baby, etc.

Little 1/28th scale repair/mods
I’m kind of scared here! I bought 2 of these little guys a while back because rainy day inside rc races need to be an option lol. Trey gave the controller to a cousin and he brakes one of the ball studs. I found a replacement pack of rear hub/carriers for $9 and a complete aluminum upgrade pack for $14! No brainer right!? The cvd size should show why I’m scared lol. This crap is tiny.
Oh well, I repair my own iPhones, gotta be ok with this I guess
Will update later…

Rear done…looks nice, but absolutely waste of the extra $5, I would have been 1000 times better off with the $9 replacement. Tow out rear bump steer, untill I modified their messed up roll center. Their shock idea works on the idea that you would loosely attach machined hardware w/o tightening it, tighten it down and no travel.
Classic example of you get what you pay for!

Another mini
Losi mini SCT with CF chassis.
Can find very little on this conversion.
Steering servo needed micro adjustments, servo arm kept popping out of steering rack when I got it.

Started into the paint and decaling of my DS. Lots of decal work left, and haven't started on the wing yet. Like all my paint jobs, she's a 2-3 footer.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Some silvercan racing and runnnig the JRX Pro SE for the first time. There were hiccups. I blew up a belcrank immediately when i bound my radio as the horn wasn't set to center. Thankfully Chris at RCM allowed me to dive into the boneyard and i wrestled a belcrank out of a very dirty JRX2. Got some laps into the car and it felt pretty good but it was short lived.
If you're wondering if plastic drive cups can survive high grip on measly torque tuned power, the answer is a resounding, "No!" On lap 5.
Went to the backup Dirtmaster that i also hadn't really driven much. Got the hang of it but i got too daring tried to clear a jump and shattered a rear arm.
I had to spend time digging through my boxes and swapping electronics to my JJ ultima so i could at least make the main. 3rd buggy's a charm! Managed to complete the main in one piece ending in 2nd out of 3.

Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Transfered some motor leads to a S&K Ironman Torque II. Working on completing the electronics package for the SWB TRX-1.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

I have been trying to do some research on crawlers and trail trucks. Ordered an axial basecamp. Going to give it a try!
