right piece about 3 or so minutes blue, 20ish minutes red, left piece about 5 minutes blue and 10ish minutes red.

these look a bit better in the image than real life. im leanin towards not dyin the car. i think it would look neat but will also look neat all white.

Just for the sake of pushing the envelope-

What was the concentration of the dye to water?

I'm still a believer

it was not at all scientific. i just used a coffee cup and microwave with about a half inch of water/dye. nuked until it boiled, then placed the shock tools.

did not add a lot of blue, little over a teaspoon. it did not take long at all to dye.

prob a little over a tablespoon of red, maybe 2 tblsp i dunno. definitely takes a bit longer to dye.

i think a little lighter on the blue for sure. i just would hate to f it up somewhere along the process... a random splash or drip. whatever.

Well of you're gonna do it the sample on the right looks very rocket pop"ish". But that's a big if. Only you can decide. And nobody (here) will be disappointed, either way.

Edit: the blue from the right and the red from the left. If...

Sorry if I've.......are you just doing the chassis? Or the whole rear-end (bulkhead, arms, etc.) in blue and the front, etc. in red, with the mid-portion of the chassis left "natural"?
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Biggest issue I see is wherever you join a color to the raw or another color, eventually you will get some bleeding. So if you lay the blue against the natural, it will pick up slight blue hue. Then it looks not so good.

Very torn on the dying. Good luck with it though!!

all the components dyed not just the chassis itself. like if you put it all together and dipped each end.

i think i got the right colors of rit and i like the look of the dyed test pieces, but i think im just gonna put it all back together white and keep the bompbop idea on the back-burner. theres just too many dang variables that could go wrong and i dont wanna potentially 'ruin' a perfectly fine minty white ultramold. its gonna be cool all white guaranteed, but if i try to dye it and make a derp with a drip or a splash, or end up over-dying something i'll be pretty peeved at myself.

forgive the cluttered desk. its how i work...

its together and its white. i did put the rpm ball cups in hot black coffee for 2 minutes to knock em down a little and match the older rpm stuff. worked pretty well.

hopin i have a set of black wheels to match my other rpm buggy. still need an xx body but those wont be near as hard to get as they used to be. i do also have an s&k airs (i think its an airs) xx body but thats for another ultramold project.

I also think the bomb pop would have been excellent if the chassis was blue white red and everything attached to the front was blue, everything attached to the back was red.

...and it was the classic red white blue, not the other versions they now also make.
