Re: Nitro Monster Beetle
Getting some cars ready for BOTM 25'.. so i pulled this ole relic off the shelf..heres what was wrong with it since it last ran "at a Jason Fest"...and it hasn't ran much!...theres a saying around here "Rough Life on the Shelf"...every car is always broken after sitting on the shelf
-it has an RC10GT clutch setup in it...17 tooth black bell..the gears were completely folded over (it has a metal counter gear in it) ..found a stainless 18th bell in my stash(had to shim engine for mesh)...went to test drive it and no brakes...gears were blown on the break servo..wtf!...got some ordered

Re: Nitro Monster Beetle
Project update:
had to back half the Monster Beetle...car on the left is the original from prior posts...like all my cars they get ran hard...and this one had a few issues in my haste to get it done..it did run good, 42mph but the body mounts and several other epoxied on parts finally gave way, the rear suspension on the engine side was never to my liking...so here is the start to getting it all fixed...waiting on a new fuel tank and lines

Re: Nitro Monster Beetle
Got it finished up minus fuel tank and lines..been waiting on them for 3 weeks
....rear shocks are Tamiya Astute fronts with custom shafts and Avante Springs
Mounted the throttle servo splines directly to the carb barrel, no linkages....it's got a sheet of titanium plate on it to protect from header heat
New body mount set is rock solid..no epoxy on it at all..everything is mounted with nuts/bolts
