I have a couple of these nip and am prolly gonna sell em but I've always wondered that they do, I found a scan of the instructions here but I'm still not clear whats their purpose?
Do they just lock the diff?

Keeps the rings from slipping on the hubs. I usually use a touch of black grease, some people would glue them.
