Bolink Chain Drive
Converting this old Bolink electric funny car to a .21 Chain Drive unit...it is an old Max Power (Novarossi) 3.5cc on-road race engine I had laying around...gonna run it on 50% nitro...Chain Drive will be designed by Dadio Designs
....it will use a Kyosho Optima chain....clutch is from a vintage Losi 8ight buggy...so far I haven't spent any money and just used stuff I had laying around...hopefully it stays that way (minus the chain drive)...yes it has brakes.

Re: Bolink Chain Drive
Flip the clutch, and start it in the other direction

Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Re: Bolink Chain Drive
Genius.
Beats my idea, which was to mount a Civic body on it backwards and pretend you always intended to make it FWD.

Re: Bolink Chain Drive
Yay! A chance to break out the Crayons!
One way to reverse the direction of the wheel rotation would be to install a forward idler gear and two idlers adjacent to the motor, then run the chain over the top of the drive sprocket.
Another way would be to install two idlers and run the chain on the front side of the driven sprocket, which would also reverse the direction of wheel rotation.

Re: Bolink Chain Drive
Or you could ditch the DD and use a combo of gears and sprocket on a jack shaft. Either engine sprocket to spur sprocket to pinion gear to spur gear on wheel/axle....or the more common engine pinion to spur gear to pinion sprocket to spur sprocket on wheel/axle.
