My basher Tyco Bandit build.

Post by GriffX »

I didn't see a Tyco section on the forum so hopefully I put this in the right place. Decided to bring an old friend back to life. Started off as front suspension fix and an electronics upgrade, but eventually I improved some things over the years as parts broke. Its still an ongoing project.
  • Ampro Engineering 3D printed independent front suspension upgrade and front bumper
  • Losi Mini-T rear suspension and transmission retrofitted w/3D printed adapter I made after the stock gears wore out after a brushless conversion.
  • lowered floor of chassis by removing battery compartment so there's more room for electronics and lowers the center of gravity
  • 3d printed replacement interior electronics box cover
  • 3D printed wheels
  • 3D printed tires in rubber-like F80 resin since most tires are dry rotted and nobody makes a perfect 1:1 recreation of the tires.
  • Losi Mini-T front and rear shocks
  • Hot Racing Spool
  • Losi MIP CVD axles
  • MG90 steering servo
  • 2440 Brushless motor
  • SkyRC stability control gyro so it can drive straight on 3s
  • 3200mah 2s lipo from Tamiya Dancing Rider and 1500mah 3s lipo

When is it no longer considered a Bandit? This is how they would have designed them if they didn't have to hit a price point I'd like to imagine. Good stuff. :)

Back when this forum was created, there were only Nikkos being posted so that's how the name got included. I've amended it to now include Tyco as well.

I'd make the case that its more Bandit now since its finally got the performance to match its looks.
