But what is going on here?

To hang a RC10 aluminum chassis for powder coating, you got to go vertical in a small oven. I rigged that up when I powdercoated my RC10T chassis. Works okay but tight, and eventually the heat is going to melt those controls. I have been passively looking for a 120V rv/boat oven for awhile now, and now that I have a place for one, time to look actively.

Could you flip it and go control side down?

But that's not the point. The point is that if you DID sell off the excess then the one you want is free! It works the same way as when wifey goes shopping and buys a bunch of stuff you don't need because it was on sale!

Ya see, I could go that route, but we have this little agreement where she spends her money on her stuff, and I spend my money on my stuff .................... and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that little policy! I'm gonna ride this train until the end!

So, fun little weekend of wheelin' dealin'. On Saturday, picked up a Kyosho Shadow 15 minutes from the house, from the original owner. Nice little survivor, with original radio and charger, and a spare chassis. Not Kyosho's premier 4wd, but a nice original bit of kit.

Sunday morning was the fun one! Found an ad with 6+ (mostly nitro) cars with parts and radios and such, and a Mauri Big Bear. I asked the seller if he would separate the Mauri, and he responded by cutting the price of the lot by close to half. This is when the whole "I am going to go buy it all" thing started. Brought it all home, spread it out in the driveway, took some pics, and put it all on FBMP at close-out prices. 2 hours later, most of the nitro stuff and parts are gone. Right now, I am out $165 for the weekend, and still have a nitro Stampede and HPI Firestorm to sell, and I do have a semi-commitment on the Stampede. I am guessing I will get ~$100 total for the both of them, so will be out $65 total. So that will be a Mauri Big Bear, a Kyosho Shadow, a Spektrum DX3C with Rx, couple of extra battery packs, Lipo charger to put in the puller pit box, and many tools for $65!

I've noticed a lot of Shadows are painted an odd color choice. The one I own is like a yellow/green highlighter color. I bought it something like 15 years ago by this point to restore. I couldn't find any NIP parts here in the US at the time, so I spent a lot of money getting them from other countries. Then around a year after that, eBay here became flooded with everything I needed, so I did it all for nothing. I still haven't restored it either.

I've noticed a lot of Shadows are painted an odd color choice.

Looking through eBay, I am seeing the same thing. Which is weird to me because the darker blue / yellow / white of the box art car is probably my favorite RC color combo!! I am hoping to paint a body in the next week or so in just that combo.

Yeah, it's really pissing me off that he hasn't sent me the $20 yet!
