I put brushed motors in my classic, Tamiya, and ReRe cars and brushless in my modern stuff like my B6, B7, and Short Course Trucks.

LOL! Brushless is the standard in modern RC.

To each their own. My Tamiya collection are shelf queens now and the rere’s are too. The modern stuff like my Pro4 and my B7 are used quite frequently.

You youngster's and all your "modern" stuff.

When I was running Clods NiCads were still a thing, I think it was Lipo that was just starting on the scene. I was out of RC by '05 or '08, somewhere in there. I was never into the tech much, other than what applied to what I needed, which was barely above a stock configuration. My philosophy was, it wasn't how fast you could get there, it was all about what you could crawl over once you did!

I got out of it about the same time. I was mostly into crawlers at that point; before there were actual crawler kits available. Outside of a couple of outrunners I had for crawler rigs, I had one brushless set up, and that was an early Novak system on a TC4 that I bought to drift with. I pulled that car out of a box just a couple of months ago to get it going again, and the old school Novak brushless esc / motor combo works just fine. :D

I think about getting back into RC from time to time, but I truly have no place to work on one or run one, so rather than rant up the irritation thread any more than I already do, I'll refrain from getting back in for now.

What I'd really love is something like this! It was never released as far as I can tell.

Coys C-67 17x8 black machined wheels arrived yesterday. Love these wheels on first gen Mustangs, and really sweet that Coys now offers them in 4 different versions.

Once you get away from vintage, crawlers, and basic RTR's, they are pretty much the thing.

I believe that brushed motors offer better control for crawlers, not a lack of torque.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

The standards for new condition seem lower for some people when selling vs buying.

Finally had some time this weekend to get back into the workshop. Pretty much done and actually started moving some stuff in. Still need to pipe some compressed air in, and maybe install a through the wall EF I have had sitting around. There are a couple of processes I won't to do in this room that could use exhaust. Not meth! :D

To hang a RC10 aluminum chassis for powder coating, you got to go vertical in a small oven. :D I rigged that up when I powdercoated my RC10T chassis. Works okay but tight, and eventually the heat is going to melt those controls. I have been passively looking for a 120V rv/boat oven for awhile now, and now that I have a place for one, time to look actively.
