Schumacher parts back in stock

Post by 1911Colt »

FYI

I just got the alert that Schumacher has ball raced steering kit U8299 for the Cougar\Cougar Classic in stock. :D These have been unavailable roughly since my ole F-100 was someone's "new truck". Rumor has it that the parts underwent a redesign to improve clearance, hence the looooooooooooong delay in restocking.

They also have U1818, which is the alloy seal housings for the Vari-shocks (Cougar 2, Bosscat, CAT/Cougar/Storm2000) They also fit other shocks, but this is a vintage forum and no one wants to hear about my Mission FT  . These come and go and are sometimes out of stock for quite a while.

Lastly, I noticed that they have the Pro transmission for Top Cat\Cougar in stock for $20 less than Amain. So while you are there buying steering kits and alloy seal housings, you may as well grab a transmission. Having a Pro transmission I don't need will help me justify buying another Cougar I don't need later. :D

Is the pro transmission a better deal than this? Liquid RC is cheaper on eBay right now than on their website.

It is about the same. At the current conversion rate Schumacher is $75 while Amain is $95.

It wouldn't be worth buying just the transmission from Schumacher because of the shipping cost. I was already paying for UK shipping on a bunch of alloy seals and steering kits, so adding the transmission made sense (well, as much sense as any un-needed part we buy in this hobby).
