Tempting, so very tempting...
Is the ball/pin end of an RC10 dogbone/universal/CVD/CVA the same size as a newer 'metric' kit outdrive?

It's close but no, not ideal. It's no different than the mismatch we ran back in the day, for example on the Amain Bullet with the metric axles and 6 gear trans. When I developed the case my intension was to run B6 axles and redesigned carriers, but instead of the carriers
JC has now released a specific axle which is both better for the metric outdrives and is longer than the rere cvds that were too short (and knowing AE probably will still be if and when they rerere them)

Re: for those not on Facebook... JC Racing edition
Just a heads up for those that are on the fence, I see that RCMart has added these cases in white and black, as well as the JC Protec body, Ultima/optima mid 2.2 wheels...
It's great to see this brand get some traction from distributors, I had not realized that they were an OG company, I thought they were a newer brand. I seems like they have been around since the beginning, which is all the more reason for me to support them.

Re: for those not on Facebook... JC Racing edition
Has anybody successfully trimmed a gear cover for one of these JC gearboxes? And if so, could you please post a pic?
I'm a little stumped and would appreciate it!

Re: for those not on Facebook... JC Racing edition
what part are you having trouble with? Are you using the JC cover? I am using a RPM 70081 molded cover on one and its clearing just fine.

That 6 gear spun me out for a bit, I'm thinking why is there a Avid slipper on it, then I realized it's a retrofit case...
Carry on.....

Re: for those not on Facebook... JC Racing edition
Thanks for the reply!
I too was using an RPM cover when I was using a smaller spur gear, it fit great. But I wanted to gear down to use a (way) faster motor,
and switched to a larger 32P spur that made the RPM too shallow. So it is the JC cover I'm trying to trim, thought a "done" pic might help.
The RPM cover is great, it makes room for the longest inward camber link position, not sure if the JC one does. Will know soon enough.
Just FYI, That is an older Avid B5/B6 slipper, don't think the current Avid product fits the JC, unless I'm mistaken!

Re: for those not on Facebook... JC Racing edition
Ahh ok, sorry I don't have a pic of the trimmed jc but we did move the spur off center slightly (the stealth and 6 gear are not centered the same either) so you will likely be forced to use a smaller gear than what the cover looks like it will take. It was the only way to jam those huge gears in the stock spot.
Edit, not sure if it helps but I found a pic Jason posted on Facebook.
