Is there any chance the kits could also include a quick release screwdriver handle? I feel like that could come in handy in the build.

I feel so attacked.. Am I the ONLY person on the planet who was excited and still hyped over the mip speedtip handle? Hell I use mine almost daily building Tamiyas with a Milwaukee phillips bit tip in it.

Jeff. It's looking great. I am liking the idea of injection molded parts.

I added a section on our website for the Ten4, it will be a place to keep up to date of the releases and also links to purchase.

I also listed the "oops" key fobs in case anyone wants to support the project by helping cover some of our mistakes

All my screwdrivers have handles already. I have no need to take the handles off

So Jeff, should we start buying parts piece by piece to get some development funds going your way, or wait until all the parts are available? It's tempting to get everything at once when available, but then you have more unrecovered sunk costs that you're carrying.

Ideally it's best to buy as we go, as the first round feeds the ability to do the second and so on. Once all are finalized, only then might there be a "kit". The pullies and idlers unlock the ability to complete the already available shapeways parts too, which some people already have. In other words if we had to stop where we are after the first round of parts, only those people would have the parts to build something. People waiting for a kit wouldn't.

Got a little further tonight.

Redesigned the steering cranks for some extra throw, and designed a new belt tensioner that should be a lot easier to use. The final piece will be machined aluminum. The slotted portion retains a nut so to adjust you just loosen the screw slightly and you don't have to fuss with the rest of it.

I also installed the tallest servo I have to make sure it fits, and it fits no problem. A shorty will be sweet. Lock to lock and clearance everywhere.

So the one thing that always bothered me about the Ten4 and the MIP as well is that the belt is so close to itself that on a hard landing I could definitely see it touching teeth. I'm thinking a thin piece of lexan might be in order. I'll have to get with Boki, maybe we can make something custom that is simple but effective.

Btw, man these new chassis are cheese. The flex is unreal. I'm thinking we might need to highly recommend our braces if using a rere. It's bad.

Very cool Jeff. How did you fit the smaller RC10 wheels on your Ten4?

Thanks limestang

On that short arm car Jeff helped me make some special knuckles and carriers. The knuckles were made to fit modified 1/4" cvas. I have at least one set of those in pa12 if you wanted to build up that version. I haven't sorted the dogbone length for short arms on the ten4.1 yet but for those it used a b4 CVA bone with 1/4" axles on them.

Here is the thread for more pics

Again though I do plan on making something short arm for the ten4.1 also, something using easier to find axles.

Regarding re-re chassis flex. Is this on the 40th anniversary chassis, the cc or both?

Thanks, limestang
