great idea... And can be customised easily, with any kind of form... And printed in TPU could be quite realistic...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

more than multicolor print, for me it is the multi material which is interesting...

Indeed , the PA interface material was out of stock :( I'll try some PLA interface at some point but the budget is spent now this month .

For PLA you may just use PETG... I remember having read somewhere that PC could work as interface material for PA, but I have not tried myself...

The other thing is the only plain PA I have is a very soft one or fibre fill that I can't use in the AMS so I need to get some plain PA6 and bambu lab only sell fibre fill so ill have to shop around.

Just got a roll of pa6 gf thats AMS compatible so I thought I'd try some PC as interface material , had mixed results partly not to do with the interface but because of overheating the top of the part and it getting a bit melty .
Firstly I tried the white pa6 gf to print a chain sprocket for a dogfighter with black PC as the support and interface , this took over two hours as there were so many material changes and left some black traces in the part , the top of the part just in PA6 GF melted , its quite a narrow tube and prints so fast it had no time to cool , if I'd printed 2 or 3 it would have been fine .

Next test was two of the same part so the top could cool properly and I just used the PC as interface material , this time I used white PC . The print time was just over 30 min as there were so much fewer material changes but now in both parts when removing the support I had layer adhesion problems , little force was needed to shear of the lower section at just the point that the interface material started so my guess is that some residual PC was still present .

So a bit of a fail :( but you live and learn .

When using another material as interface material, I always had to adjust purge to make sure there is no mixing when restarting printing in the print material...
I generally found that using a different color really helps as it is easier to see that purge is incomplete, and as well to see the interface after the print, to ease the removal... And this is one case where I always use 100% infill as it reduce the risks of issue if the purge is not complete and there is some pollution when restarting printing...

And by the way, before doing functionnal part, I just start by testing with a very simple stl file which is very quick to print (2 cylinders, the bigger diameter on top of the smaller diameter). I would not start a functional print until I get my settings right.

This just blew me away , it's half of a Meteor gearbox printed in glass fibre nylon with PC used as the support interface , the inside your looking at is the supported surface , its shiny , my old ender would look like this on the top lol

Its coming along nicely , I've been planning on using the shock mounts I designed for the scorpion arms to fie AE golds but as it happens I could keep it mono shock with just a little rod length adjustment :D
