What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
I guess I'll kick this new forum into gear. So I pre-ordered my re-release RC10T Classic direct from Team Associated. While I and many others are waiting on the late June shipment, I ordered some Fan RC hard-anodized Team shocks with black aluminum shock caps. I know those shocks came with the black plastic caps bitd, so I plan on using a mint set of plastic caps I have in my parts bin to replace the metal ones. I have the OE gold shock springs as well. I'll also be replacing the plastic transmission brace with a carbon fiber brace. For the servo I chose a NIP Airtronics 94102. My motor of choice will be a new Trinity Gold Monster Horsepower mod motor. ESC will be a new Novak T4. I'm going to paint my body like the Cliff Lett Team Moo theme. I wish I had some pics to post, but we're all waiting on shipment. What are you going to do with your 10T?

Just going with boring box art with mine.
I probably won't fit electronics since mine's going on the shelf.
I will be looking to fit a period correct motor, however. Something from Reedy would be nice.
Meanwhile, just waiting for AE to move forward and start processing orders.
I think June will seem like a very long month.

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
The early 10t with narrow wheels came with hard anodized shocks with metal caps. I would keep the metal caps on them and save the plastic caps.

My mid production Team Truck has aluminum caps. My late production Sport Truck has plastic caps.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
There's a thread around here somewhere in which the FanRC shocks are being discussed and there was some talk about the thread pitch of the bodies/caps. It's different or the same as the originals? Anyway, I'll go look for that thread. AE plastic caps might not fit Fan bodies. But I'm not sure of that.
Edit: here's where I read that "tidbit"

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
I bought 2. I’m going to hand them to my kids. They get to have the new in box experience. My oldest has no interest in driving it. Just what came with the box.
My youngest wants to build it with me and run it. Hopefully there is at least one combination of esc and motor that works. I am not sure on radio and servo. I might just get a savox 1258tg.
The spur gear will be a 32 pitch. I have most of the rc10t hop-ups I may just let him choose what he wants from the bins.

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
Already sourced an Andy's body painted in box art/ad art.
Back in 1991, my mom got me a Trinity Slot Machine for my Blackfoot at the LHS. Its in surprisingly good shape and think it would be perfect for this build. It's the first one with the sky blue label.
I have a Radiolink received, going to be using my RC8X. I love that thing!
Anyone have suggestions on a pinion? The 40th is 48p, but this one is excepted to be 32p?
I am a Tamiya/Kyosho guy so still learning about AE/Losi.

The 10t should also be a 48p. The 40th was in accurate by being a 48 vs 32p.ls1heli wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:02 pm Already sourced an Andy's body painted in box art/ad art.

Given the sentimental value of that slot machine you have you may want to purchase an alternate brushed motor to bash around with if you plan on running it.
Holmes hobbies had been targeting the vintage re-re by releasing a series of brushed motors for vintage running for under $20.

Very very cool.
I just went to the Holmes site and saw the vintage line of brushed motors. That looks perfect. Thanks for the suggestion, I just might have to pick two of these up.

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?
I have some brush motors coming soon as well, starting with 12x1 and 17x1, they will be chrome can instead of the black though. Hopefully will have them available by the time the next big release happens. They will be $19.95 just like the good old days

Like TRX 1-3 said the shock caps on the fan rc stuff is a different thread.joey_zrl wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 10:46 pm I guess I'll kick this new forum into gear. Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.
