RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
This build started with a standard RC10CC, a banana'd nose plate, and a worn B stamp chassis.
. . . .
Some nicer additions were included, such as custom Factory Works chassis, shock towers, Thorp 48 pitch gears, Aristo-Craft Thorr ESC, and Orion Jukka Steenari Edition 9 turn single motor. Also, no bushings in this build. Bearings only please.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
Chassis buildup started pretty uneventfully. The clear parts don't inspire the same sense of strength that the OG nylon did, so I decided I'd tap that, and that, and that, etc during the build (actual tapping
) to avoid overstressing parts. Probably mostly unnecessary, but it was interesting to be able to see through the parts and see the thread cutting happen. The build instructions are kind of funny how they feel the need to emphasize doing both left and right sides. I added a little more emphasis.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
Eventually I got to the gearbox. The RC10CC top shaft already had the gear on it and it wasn't clear if it was on a taper and could be separated, so I grabbed a vintage top shaft for the Thorp 48 pitch gearbox build. I also did the outdrive bearing mod because that just seems like how outdrives should be supported.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
The shock builds and top plate installation went fine. I'm not great at bleeding shocks, but I make a great mess trying. For the battery cup, my green fiberglass strap ended up being a better fit with the top plate.
. . .
After that, it was time to install electronics and wheels. I was planning on a black Tekin receiver but it didn't fit well so I went to a Hitec Shredder. For the wheels, i felt like this is the build that my aluminum jelly beans belonged with. This will be their home.

This also seemed like the right place for a body I had a friend paint a couple of months ago. The colors weren't a good match with the intended buggy, but I think this is the right buggy. I also added a homemade wing because I like wings.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
This is CLEARLY a killer build
Very very cool how you were able to apply pieces you came up with and created before the CC was even the whisper of an idea to this build and have such an awesome outcome

Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
For some reason when I saw this picture I heard Adam Sandler from Anger Managment sing... "I feel pretty... oh so pretty"

That looks really nice. Pretty chassis and top deck, the aluminum wheels were a sweet choice... and an open cockpit body? Very cool.

Very cool build! Never seen that body before (that I recall) what is it?
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
It's the Team Blue Groove MRP chassis dust cover reproduction. I thought they were cool enough to use as a body by themselves. I now have 2 buggies with them.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
That is the best interpretation of the CC yet! Extremely well done!
Every time I see "coffin" in the subject line, I think someone is building an RC Dragula

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica
MarkyDents has suggested a cage before too, in my other build with this body. I haven't decided yet on a cage
