Gifted an old RC10. Restoration Process

Its extremely heavy Speaking of batteries, I have a few of these lying around that I no longer use since I've moved my Traxxas cars over to LiPo. Would I be able to use these in the RC10? Maybe just grab a converter for the connector? I don't really have a use for them otherwise so it would be nice to repurpose.

Was thinking about grabbing 2 of these for this car... Any issue here? they are 6 cell. I use Zeee Lipos and they have been pretty reliable for me without breaking the bank. Dimensions are 5.33 x 1.79 x .89in

Those 3600mah batteries will run way longer than that motor can take (overheating). Just keep that in mind. Otherwise nothing wrong with those batteries. You could run a 2s lipo if you time limit yourself to no more than 5 min with cooldown afterward. You could plug in a voltage monitor alarm to the battery to make sure you don't bring it down too low.

It doesn't have a lipo cutoff. You can get an alarm for ~$5 that let's you know when to stop.

Alternatively, you can get a Hobbywing 1060 esc for ~$20, which has a lipo cutoff. With this, you don't have to risk damaging (or adjusting) a 30 year old esc.

I have come across a few different aftermarket hardware/screw sets for this car. Can anyone recommend a brand or set that they have used and is complete? The hardware on this is all over the place, with some screws and washers good, but others mismatched and using hardware store split washers. I would love to get some fresh hardware all around if possible.

I haven't used their kit, but I use their 8-32 chassis screws which are very high quality. I would expect their kit to be really good too.

I've bought some eBay kits that I wouldn't use again. l've ended up getting bulk fasteners for my needs.

Just grabbed the black oxide kit. Will be nice to have a clean fresh screw set.
