Painted this short arm car. I thought the paint was darker than that but whatever, it doesn't look bad.

Is that a B2 or B3 body? The driver area seems like it has bigger windows. I like that body and wing setup. That's a good looking buggy

Its a JConcepts Protector. The wing is a TBG replacement for a Cox Bandido (they sent me an extra). I thought that the JConcepts Finnisher wing was a little too pretentious for a short arm car.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 10:20 pm Is that a B2 or B3 body? Made an attempt at getting this workspace usable again. It had looked like a total disaster, now it just looks cluttered.
Did a little more work on this ORV. Made a bracket for the esc to sit on. Also made an antenna mount and attached it to the bracket. Mounted the Tamiya receiver on the old msc bracket and ran the leads.

Because of the wing design, I had to use several coats of paint. By then, the paint was heavy enough that a backer wouldn't change anything.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Yesterday evening and today, FXT work.
Painted the body, put decals on, and dyed the wheels black.
I still intend to paint the wheels gunmetal to match the originals, but both me and the LHS are out at the moment. I figure that dying them black should serve as a good base color, instead of using black paint.

Very nicely done. The color scheme is excellent!

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I've been practicing on my anodizing the last couple of days.
Time, temp and voltages were the control aspects of the attempts.
The aluminum, this time, is 6061-T6. Way easier than duraluminum.
The nose and wing tubes sand and polish fairly easily so I chose them for testing.
Spinning in a drill with a short piece of rubber hose in the chuck keeps from marring the tubes when sanding and polishing.
More tubing on it"s way.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
2 days of RC in a vintage event in France : Montluçonnaise 2023

Lot of fun, some face on some pseudo (poke @Trass), and a lot of runs on both a nice onroad track with nice curves and a very nice offroad track in a very vintage spirit, and not too hard for our old cars...
Went there with 16 cars. All of the16 cars had some run time, some more than others.... The printed tires worked very well in off road condition, my Marui Samurai and my Marui Ninja both got some nice run time and even some air time (I hope I can extract some nice moments from the footage I took during the runs).
Almost broke nothing :
- a lost screw on the Lunchbox,
- a pulley not tighten enough on the bearcat ss, and unfortunately, that's the one inside the gearbox (2 laps only before this happened)
- a probable broken idle gear on the Big Bear (but I did not opened the gearbox, I'll see this within the week)
- a motor pinion escaping on the Super Wheelie : run time 3 meters. Solved this morning, and it had quite a good run time after this
I went back late afternoon, cleaned everything quickly (weather was good, so mainly dust, and the air compressor did the work), sorted my cars in 3 categories shelf, ok state, requires work
And it's long time I've not been that tired... Already looking forward for next vintage event

Yep,
Not today, but last week-end
Happy to put faces on pseudos as @silvertriple and others.
Went with around 25 cars, only 2 on the track ... TA05R (drift setup) and very short sponge-Bob Kraby Patty on TL01

here is some pics :

See you next year at "the Monluçonnaise 2K24"

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I love that Schumacher with the 3-spoke wheels
Also, this buggy reminds me of my Traxxas Bullet, except I don't see gold alloy chassis or satin chrome wheels. (Note that I haven't had that Bullet since ~1989, so memory is suspect
). What is it?
