Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Got the dual engine mount back in with dual "E" engines in it...7.5lbs of thrust each....2.5 sec burn....hoping for 100mph with these...two more "F" engines ordered for next week....hoping for 130mph from those....also put different front wheels on that shouldn't blow out....weighs 2.4lbs like this with body

Looking at this makes me think you should probably pack a fire extinguisher just in case...

Still getting my head around blowing out undriven tires just from the rpm .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
A thought occurred to me. for the Dual setup you might want to do an over under setup instead of side by side that way if the timing is off it won't steer the car to the side.coxbros1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 5:09 pm Got the dual engine mount back in with dual "E" engines in it...7.5lbs of thrust each....2.5 sec burn....hoping for 100mph with these...two more "F" engines ordered for next week....hoping for 130mph from those....also put different front wheels on that shouldn't blow out....weighs 2.4lbs like this with body

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Best I can tell the timing of the engined is spot on...plus the consistency of Estes products!..made two runs...both ran exactly 72 mph...we will know for sure tho in the morning...also, I plan on putting the single mount on top of the duals..getting a much more streamline body.....going to go 3 engines eventually...130mph in 2.4 seconds....want to be the fastest in the worldRogueIV wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 9:59 pmA thought occurred to me. for the Dual setup you might want to do an over under setup instead of side by side that way if the timing is off it won't steer the car to the side.coxbros1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 5:09 pm Got the dual engine mount back in with dual "E" engines in it...7.5lbs of thrust each....2.5 sec burn....hoping for 100mph with these...two more "F" engines ordered for next week....hoping for 130mph from those....also put different front wheels on that shouldn't blow out....weighs 2.4lbs like this with body

Wile E. Coyote didn't need ignitors. And that always worked out well...

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Got some rockets from Hobby Lobby. Tested it twice. Video on rc10talk fb group. Thumbs will get it on here later. It crashed bad. Dual engines doesnt want to go strait at all so far. Dereks repairing it now. Will test again in morning.
