Re: What your workstation looks like?
My workstation is a bit of a nightmare, I'm in the process of building a 12m x 7.5m man cave/shed but until then I'm stuck in this space.

It's still much nicer than mine, mate.... jealous of your nice benches, and good lighting

The previous owner was a sparky so lighting is overkill, it's a great shed, just got to much stuff in there.Incredible_Serious wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 3:49 amIt's still much nicer than mine, mate.... jealous of your nice benches, and good lighting![]()
I can't wait to finish the new shed, no money left to pay someone to build it, so going to do it myself and that means it's going to take a long time.

Re: What your workstation looks like?
The results are fantastic!!! A clean slate to make a mess in!

You and I got on the same kick today ................ although I am lagging behind and need quite a few more hours (or maybe days) before getting it better. I was hoping to have all day Sunday for it, but the plans stack up. I am usually okay with a mess, but I am literally beyond what I can even handle. This is just flat embarrassing.

Just a FYI, Big Lots (if you have them) has the best price on storage totes. Sterlite 32qt with latching tops for $9. Great size to store a 1/10 car plus extras.
These are the pre pics from today.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: What your workstation looks like?
Some before and after pics of my Hobby Shed.

It was like that for around 10 years, then there was this global pandemic that caused lots of lockdowns and isolation periods, so decided to do this.

And now I have this space to work on and display my cars.

The before and after comparison.

Re: What your workstation looks like?
OK, I really need some ideas here for a new setup. I'll get this out of the way now, because I already know the most common response - I CANNOT BUILD A CUSTOM WORKBENCH. At this age, I know what I'm good at, and what I'll wind up paying someone to fix/finish after I screw it up. Building furniture is in the latter category. I need something "off the shelf".
This Harbor Freight workbench has served me very well for $99, but the leg is bent & almost certain to break when I move it to replace the carpet soon...but that's OK, because I have to make a change. I have an elevated bar stool with a back rest, but can't slide the chair under the tabletop, so I either slump over the workspace, or stand, because if I sit up straight, which I really have to - then I am working over my lap, and allowing every tiny screw & e-ring to fall into onto the floor (and usually into the void).
I MUST find something that lets me slide my chair UNDER the desk. Ideally, it'd have a workspace able to accommodate my obscenely large 1/5 Kraton (pictured), without breaking the bank. If I have to just get a large table & hang a separate pegboard on the wall, I suppose I could, but I'd really like something with drawers so I can chuck the plastic crap.
Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Re: What your workstation looks like?
I use a regular computer desk with a pit mat on it. Instead of pegboard, I have magnetic tool strips on the wall. I also wire rack shelves above.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Re: What your workstation looks like?
I’ve got one of these Gladiator benches available from Lowes.
They come in different lengths and their height is adjustable. I’m extremely pleased with its quality. They also have a host of different pieces you can outfit your work space with as well.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
