Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
normally i would say Kyosho Golds OR Duratrax depending on the chamfer at the bottom, but seeing as they even used the red spacers for the shock bushings it looks to me like they transferred them straight off a Kyosho car

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Any idea what model this motor is? Looks like some sort of 1998 ROAR label on a Trinity.

Other than being a GM Racing stock motor, I don't know.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
So someone showed this interesting 959 on our local racers FB group. Anyone know what this thing is?
NM I answered my own question. It's a Robbe #3500. Anyone have any experience with these kits?Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Sold by Robbe, not sure the true manufacturer but don't recall ever seeing it sold outside Robbe. They had a suspension raise/lower option and a 2wd/4wd clutch. So cool. It's on my want list here it is with the options...

Robbe Porsche 959 - a quick Google brings up a fair number of matches.
Here's one you can look at:

Nothing other than drooling over them in the Robbe catalog
Oh, and the lemans motor was part of their electronics kit they sold for it, it only came separately but with the esc and possibly a pinion iirc

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Ok I got one. I am usually the first to say something like this is homemade but the crank arm seems really properly designed, and the upper has a nice shape to it. The pivot parts are just from model airplanes. Wasn't sure if anyone else has seen one before

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I've either seen that one before or it's a kit , I copied it somewhat on my first Dogfighter but didn't like it much , threw the chain in reverse almost every time and over tensioned the chain.
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Yeah I'm not sure I totally agree with it, but that tends to be the way with a lot of vintage product haha. I appreciate the feedback, trying to decide if I remake it or not.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I think if I was offering it for sale I'd add a note saying forward only ! If I was looking for one to copy there was a nice red alloy one , can't remember if it was Hot Trick but it looked like it .
