Thanks! I really dig this car...still got wire it up, esc, etc...the "Diamond One" will take care of the body...I have decided on Turbo Optima wheels on 0T-66 meats...I have a set of an aluminum set and a set of Kyosho wheels coming, whichever looks best I will go with...either way...PepperPots 4 Life!

Re: Kyosho Lumina/Slingshot resto
Looks amazing, Derek. Well done sir!
This is another RC I didn't know existed. I have a Custom Works Dominator and the Slingshot looks very similar to that car.
I wonder which car came first; was the Dominator an American Slingshot or was the Slingshot a Japanese Dominator?
Anyway, will your Slingshot actually hit the dirt at some point? There are no dirt oval tracks in the area but someday I want to fit a set of road tires to the Dom and take it to the local church parking lot. I recall exactly how to drive that car: just pin the throttle and steer - turn right to go left.
Anyway, racing dirt oval was great fun and I miss those days.

Got it all done except body, wheels tires....got the tires, waiting on wheels and decals from MCI....the servo/esc work perfect, I tested with a 2.4 receiver as I dont have crystals or transmitter for this receiver just yet

Are those actual, working Sanyo sub C cells, in excellent cosmetic condition?

Yes but they don't hold much mah anymore...they charge up to good voltage but don't last long at all anymore

Re: Kyosho Lumina/Slingshot resto
Just too much time and money invested in this one to run it...I generally beat the dog crap out of most of my builds, but this one went about 3x over budget!

Excellent work as always!
It was mentioned earlier that the car originally had belts but was converted to chains. What was the reasoning behind the change?

Re: Kyosho Lumina/Slingshot resto
I guy messaged me on a Facebook group...he says the machinist that made the chain conversion was in RCCA with his conversions back in the day...he is gonna try and dig it up
As far as the chains...this thing with pinion off rolls as free as a Dominator....the belts caused drag and could in no way compete with the Dominator back in the days of limited batteries/motors...this conversion fixed that issue...plus it's way cooler than belts!
