RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
Hello everyone!
Here's a little teaser for my upcoming Worlds rerelease build. The car will be here tomorrow, but I still have a number of things to get before I'll be able to run it. Hoping to have it built and running by April. I'm building it to be a replica of what I ran back in 1994, which to no surprise I'm sure, was a partial replica of BK's 93 buggy. I ran some different electronics, but am collecting a number of vintage items at this point, so who knows where this will go.
I'll update this as things arrive, and the build begins.
James

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
So I went to town a bit today. What a blast getting to this point. Really reminded me of when I last built one in 94. I have a lot to do yet. Need to align the wheels, decide on the electronics, and then recondition them. I've gathered a nice little Novak collection, but I'm still holding out for a Hammer Pro, which is what I ran in 94. I haven't received the motor yet, which will be a Reedy Mr T's. I should have one of the two bodies that are being painted back soon.

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
Did some reconditioning to the Novak 410-HPc that I'm going to run in this build. Also mounted it and the Novak NER 2X in the chassis. Threw on some white wheels, and the body Todd did for me. I have a couple of stock motors, but I'm waiting for one of the Reedy Mr series motors I ordered to come in, as I want that to be the first one I run. Getting close!

Motor showed up today. This is in very good condition. I almost don't want to run it... almost
. I probably won't bash it,but really do want to see what it's like. I have another modified motor on the way that will probably spend more time mounted.

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
So I had this all ready to run, motor broken in and installed, and ran into some serious glitching. Turns out the harness going to the receiver was pinched under the battery and got damaged. Removing the battery while plugged in made the problem better, but the damage was done. Now I have to open the HPC again to replace that harness
During this fiasco I also made the decision to go FM instead of AM, so I'm on the hunt for a Novak NER-3FM.

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
Novak XXL FM are easier to find, if that's an acceptable receiver.
Frankensteined RC10T3 / Franky Jr RC10GT-e (x2) / A+ stamp / Toy Story RC / Graphite replica / B1.5 BFG 5LTi / Clonewald / Hyper Hornet

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
I actually have an XXL, but those came out in 1999 I believe, which isn't period correct. I'm trying to keep the electronics to what was available and used in 1994. Thanks though!Frankentruck wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 3:35 pm Novak XXL FM are easier to find, if that's an acceptable receiver.

Re: RC10 Worlds Rerelease Build
Well, I'm pretty much done with the rere...but I have two more projects that I'll share here.
The first teaser for a new build is
The second upcoming build isn't really a build, but the completion of an original World's Car!
First question, should I put this Losi Hydra in the rere or the original???
