Sand Rover help

Post by Dadio »

I'm hoping I can get a little help in the way of a measurement , I'm slowly restoring a Sand Rover and both the rear body mounting clips have broken off , now I can see the cross section of it but I need to know how high up the catch/hook is , I've shown the height I need in the picture below. Usually I'd just see how the body fitted but I'm going to be using a re re body and it mounts differently .
So if anybody has a Sand Rover and a few moments to spare I'd really appreciate it.

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

I have two clips that look exactly like yours in with some odds n sods
I guess the bit your asking about is broken off where the rectangle is. So mine are broken too?

I don't have a Sand Rover, unfortunately... I'm going to ask a friend who have one at hand...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

Yes you have it correctly , the rectangle is where it's broken off , I'm planning on making a semicircular piece to sit on top where it's broken that has a big enough surface to glue on and have the hook extend up from it , that way it can be a repair section rather than a replacement for FDM printing , it's not an ideal object for home printing the whole piece but the repair section should be easy , I'll stick the repair section on Thingiverse , might do a complete one for Shapeways as it would be better printed MJF or SLS .
If you can help it would be great .
