Still have power so far.
More ice to come.

It's pretty wild how that's been happening so far south lately. You wouldn't think it's supposed to do that at all. I'm under the impression though that when it does happen, it's only for little spurts, and then it quickly goes back to being really warm again. I'll take it over having similar weather for months on end like here in New England. :| Although this winter has been record-breakingly mild which is fantastic! :)

Try living next to a large mountain range. Been here my whole life, winter is the worst.

Time to rethink the future and move on!!

Well I spoke a little too soon...

A couple hours after the post, power went out.
Power came back this afternoon. The house had dropped to 59 degrees.
In the days proceeding my post I could only get the temp to 68 due to ice build up from rain on the heat pump.
Going to town this morning it almost looked as though a hurricane or tornado had gone through. Trees and limbs down from the ice storm everywhere.
I do feel lucky however, thousands of other had it far worse.

Lowgear was spot on with his weather synopsis and forecast. Sunday and Monday 72 for a high.

There's not much worse than losing power in these kinds of situations, or in any situation really. :? At least it was restored in a decent amount of time given the circumstances. There was actually a short piece I saw on the local news about it last night. Hopefully you do see the rapid rise in temperature to melt it all! :)

Due to the arctic air that has swept over part of the nation, it's currently a cool -11°F with a -33°F wind chill right now. I actually went outside for a bit and stood there in the t-shirt and jogging pants I'm in to see how it was. Not as bad as I was expecting, although I wouldn't want to be out there like that for any extended length of time obviously. I'm just glad I'm not on Mount Washington.

No more ice. 61 degrees and sunny.

The limbs that came down from mostly 4 oak trees dragged around to the back.

For someone who lives in an area where we get maybe 6” total snowfall each year now. Those snowy mountains seem like a lot of fun. But I can see how dealing with it all those years could wear you down.

Losing power SUCKS. I live in Michigan and the grid we are on here is not the greatest, so seems I lose power at least a few times per year, sometimes for no real reason at all :| Finally bought a nice 5000w generator last year because of it happening so often.

We've been in the deep freeze here for the past 10 days or so now. Was down to 0f Friday night. I had a buddy from Florida that was in town on business come and hang out for the weekend watching movies in the theater room. He's not use to the cold here in Michigan so he had his jacket on almost the whole first day he was here even in the house
