Geforce Genova
I did a quick google search and didn't come up with a thread on this. The press machine is working for the g-force company. I have been reading a bit about the genova for a while now. Has anyone taken a look at one or built it?
How does it compare to the RB10, Ultima or the Traxxas Bandit? Amazon.jp page

Re: Geforce Genova
I saw some YouTube on it , it kind of confused me , other than Masami connection it's not vintage and won't be competitive with modern cars ...... So why do they think it's what people want

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

It looks like a Tamiya buggy, with Traxxas hubs and Ebay shocks.

Re: Geforce Genova
every time I see someone ask about it going to other countries it is shot down, appears to be japan only. Not sure, maybe they just dont have distributors. Having Masami back the car will make it popular no matter what it is quality wise.
looking at the parts that are available, the trans is very traxxas-like. The suspension reminds me of b5 rear motor stuff. Nothing mind blowing for sure, just a basic entry level buggy with a very big name pushing it

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

It's reassuring that everyone feels the same , maybe Masami is skint and needed a cash cow for his retirement ? I know I could .

Re: Geforce Genova
Don't get me wrong.
If it were cheap and readily available, I might would buy one. It's neither.
Other than having Masami's name somehow associated with it, there is nothing remotely cool about it.
It looks like they copied other people's outdated designs, slapped his name on it, and doubled (or tripled) the price.

Re: Geforce Genova
It looked easy enough to get off amazon japan and it was going to be in the low $200 range. I was thinking about cars in that price point and it looked interesting. It doesn't sounds like anyone has experience with this though.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 9:39 amDon't get me wrong.

Re: Geforce Genova
If I were in the market for something new, I'd probably opt for the RB10 as a preference over the Genova. The US availability and possible parts crossovers with other AE models being the primary reasons.
Frankensteined RC10T3 / Franky Jr RC10GT-e (x2) / A+ stamp / Toy Story RC / Graphite replica / B1.5 BFG 5LTi / Clonewald / Hyper Hornet

Re: Geforce Genova
RB10 was my first inclination as well but I wanted to consider others as well. My most recent vehicle is a t4. I won't have a lot of interoperable parts. That leaves me open other manufacturers. I was thinking of the Genova as being in the Dt02/03 or bandit level of car.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 10:54 am If I were in the market for something new, I'd probably opt for the RB10 as a preference over the Genova. Re: Geforce Genova
If that's what you are looking for, the Bandit is a no- brainer. The amount of factory and aftermarket support for the 2WD Traxxas is insane. It is probably the longest running and best supported platform in RC history.
The Tamiya cars (like most Tamiya) are on the fragile side. Getting Tamiya parts can also be troublesome at times, especially in the US. I often have to order parts from Japan or GB.

Re: Geforce Genova
The Jeg's Stinger is the lower spec "budget" version of the Genova at $159 RTR in the US. They have parts as well.
To me it is like those "Thunderbirds" Ford sold in the early 2000s- not the greatest choice for a modern car and definitely not a 55-56-57 T-bird.
Not a bad thing, necessarily, but not for me. Gavin on RCKicks is pretty pleased ("well chuffed") with his Genova.

Re: Geforce Genova
IMO the Stinger has a super ugly body. I like the Holeshot truck though. Haven't driven it yet but should be fun with this 3S lipo. Transmission comes with bearings already. I bought a $10 pack of bearings to replace all of the hub bushings. The plastic big bore shocks feel pretty good. Geometry on everything seems legit, should drive well. Ya, there is some compromise here and there, but for a $49.99 RTR I'm not complaining. JEGS has all of the spare parts available.

Re: Geforce Genova
Ok ya got me. For $50 I couldn’t say no and ordered a stinger. Let’s see if I can be the next Masami with it
