Friend gave me two B3s!!!
Re: Friend gave me two B3s!!!
A tightened diff did the trick, for awhile it seems. Idk I just tighten it almost to lock it? Longevity is definitely something I’m looking for.

I've found these vids to be helpful with ball diffs and slippers.

Thanks for the info Cowboy!
New problem
the metal turnbuckle snapped after a spin out. Worst part is that it snapped right at the ball cup socket. A lot of the metal seems to have aged poorly. Titanium it is! I can find kits and parts for the turnbuckle but can anyone point me to the cup socket that’s available? The original part is asc7230
I think after this I should be good. I know what to replace. Except shocks… those damn v2 .89 and 1.32 are impossible to find

Re: Friend gave me two B3s!!!
Custom Works long cups are nearly identical. Even though they are discounted, I still run across the 7230's often.
RPM cups can be used in most places but they are a little bulkier than AE or CW cups.
AE turnbuckles and known for breaking and bending at the threads. I prefer Schumacher turnbuckles.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Thanks a ton. I’d rather add the $3 to the cart then get this thing out

Re: Friend gave me two B3s!!!
Wohoo! More parts! Could only find this damn thing from a seller in Korea. Thank you eBay.
First initial install with one red o ring resulted in the CVD barely making contact. Only one bone was making contact with the out drive. Even I know that probably isn’t good. Took it apart and added 2 more just to be safe.

Weighed them out to get a good starting part for the shock oil. After that used the old technique of pushing it in and seeing if they both push out at the same rate. This still good method? Also maybe any tips on droop? I may need to add little more oil

Installed!

Suspension unloaded

Load sitting?

Load settled

The first is me lifting it so the arms hang. The second is it placed after lifting it. The third is after I push the suspension down. Sorry if this examination is confusing. I’m using 30 weight in the rear.
These things definitely needed TLC. One was completely empty and the other was filled half way with black oil

Re: Friend gave me two B3s!!!
I made it to the track twice! The first time oh boy, what a fun disaster. Ended up only breaking a rear shock mount. Surprisingly durable. All titanium turnbuckles, carbon fiber towers and the v2 shocks.
The second time I was able to clear the jumps better after adjusting the speed controller. Soft was nice for learning but wasn't zippy enough to make the 2 large jumps. Definitely got my steps going up and down to flip my car over. Damn was it fun though! After a couple of hours I was able to complete a lap! Haha the fast guys were under 20 seconds and I think I was lucky to get 30 seconds. New spur and lowering the ride height should be good for whenever I can make it back
