Project Big Bear; he’s iron tough

Post by GoMachV »

Scored a couple big bear projects lately and after thinking about it for a while I decided to create a chassis for one of em. Nothing crazy, with the very limited suspension I didn’t even bother accommodating oil shocks. Battery can fit sideways or lengthways, and it will support a shorty as well. Body still clips in the same as stock. Anyway, pics tell a better story….

Nice and interesting work... I'm surprised you did not try to have the steering servo head centered while rebuilding a chassis from scratch...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

It was considered for sure, and still possible- but I wanted a bolt on kit with no cutting or modding needed. I will probably configure it for a single bellcrank in the center from my hotshot kit, and people would just need to buy longer tie rods to suit.

What he did with the Hotshot/Supershot regarding the bell crank is amazing...seriously
