What Free Email Service Are You Using?

Post by morrisey0 »

This is such a teenager question...............

So, Yahoo has once again locked me out of my account unless I change my PW. They say this is due to security reasons, but it happens just about every year or so. Almost predictable.

So, I just don't want to do that. I like my PW. It is super secure and no one is going to guess it. There is no reason to change it ................. again!

So, what service are you using and are you good with it? I am looking for a change.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Hotmail was my first go at email, but haven't used it in probably 15+ years. Then got Yahoo mail which I still have but only use it for backup purposes. Also have Gmail that I typically use. Also been using Microsoft Outlook from 2006, not initially free, but it's 10x better than any of them without a doubt.

Same here! I've lost count how many email addresses I have through various providers but that's always been my 'main' one. I'm not a huge fan of using it any longer but it's kind of impossible when It's linked to 20+ years of websites.

I currently use:
hotmail.com
outlook.com
gmail.com
protonmail.com
mail.com
gmx.com

I've used Gmail for years and have no issues with it personally. They retain emails for what seems like eternity so you can find stuff from years ago by searching your inbox.

same here since my first computer back in 96(?). essentially its pretty much outlook.com with hotmail's address. Had changed my password about 20+ years ago and haven't had an issue with it ever. There isn't a good reason to change your PW when you know its not gonna be compromised so 100% understand your logic. Gmail.com is not bad but...I'm old and don't like change that much but had to have it for my USCellular setup. Check in on it periodically...every other year or so and I also use it for when you need an email addy to sign up or buy something that they don't have a need for an email address. Know they are just selling the info but keeps my hotmail less 'spammy'.

If you own an Android device, you should already have a Gmail account. If you setup a Google account for updates and such, a Gmail account should be part of it.

That's how mine came to be. Even though most of my stuff still goes to Yahoo, the Gmail is more secure and easier to use. I've just never gotten around to changing everything.

I use yahoo for things I know are going to be slightly spammy and unnecessarily frequent and I use Gmail for personal commo and "important" things like shipping details, "bills", etc. It kind of works but eventually everything gets leakage and dillution.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

I know it’s slightly off topic but I seems like the right place for it. One of the YouTubers I watch has his own domain and email hosting. Since he has pretty much unlimited email addresses within it, he creates individual addresses for all his contacts. Phone bill goes to [email protected]. Satellite bill goes to [email protected]. And so on. It really shines a light on who sells your info
