Re: RC10T2 Basher
The molded center links are a nice option. They were made by Associated and RPM. The AE version is sized similar to the B2 ball cups, while the RPM version matches theirs.
I've bought several cheap bellcranks on ebay, just because they had these with them.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
I have a couple of the associated ones so I am going to use one of those. I wasn't aware of different ballcup sizes. Is this a 4.2 vs 4.3 mm ball difference or something else?juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 4:45 am The molded center links are a nice option. They were made by Associated and RPM. Re: RC10T2 Basher
I was referring to external size and design. The RPM is bulkier.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
Cleaned up and rebuilt the transmission.
Added a Robinson racing rc10gt aluminum diff.
It’s a really pretty diff gear. I cleaned out all of the dirt, oiled and cleaned the bearings. Polished up the outdirives, diff rings and thrush bearing washers. Cleaned the gears and applied a dry lubricant to them.
The diff is super smooth but when you spin the transmission the weight difference is notable.
This is a visual note to me. I am short a 1/8” bhcs for the spur mount.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
They are so small and easy to loose. That's why I bought a bag full from Team KnK.

It’s magic. I’m running a gear cover so where did it go? I suppose it’s better than the spur getting ground up but it should have been bouncing around in there.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 9:42 pmThey are so small and easy to loose. That's why I bought a bag full from Team KnK.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
Definitely better lost than chewing up a Robinson Absolute spur. Those have gotten pricey. Anymore, I buy the AE/Kimbrough spurs.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
All of the parts were dyed and just look quite a bit nicer. The rpm off my parts wreck were a bit rough so I sanded them down till they were white and they took the new dye just fine.
The rpm arms are sized off the original rc10t arms and not the rc10t2 style. So the outer rear hinge pins from the t2 are about 1/8” longer than they need to be. The rpm arms feel like jelly compared to the composite molded t2 arms. I’ll have to see if I wind up with the drive shafts popping from the outdrives.-

Re: RC10T2 Basher
Just enough time between dropping the kids at school and heading to work to get the shock towers a spray of clear coat.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
The towers are all shined up and the kids are getting impatient so a bit more progress than normal.
The mip t4 cvds are a direct drop in on the t2. With the t4 hub the bones are too short with the stock hub the axle needs to be shimmed out. I am not worried at all about these popping out.
I have a set of 13mm shocks that I am trying on. I am not sure if these look better or if 12mm big bored would look nicer.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
Thanks to a tip from juicedcoupe.
The Traxxas front spindle and axle fit the b4 caster blocks I was using with very minimal modification. This is going to help with keeping the wheels on the truck. I was using b4.2 front axles and they don’t have enough thread.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
Got the front end assembled and mounted. I cleaned up the rpm bumper as well as I could and added the battery holder and some j-concepts hold down nuts.
It’s really coming together.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
I soldered up the esc and bound the receiver. It can move on it’s own so my kids think it’s done.
Everything is a tighter than normal fit. The chassis is more rounded in the bends making the parts have to mount a bit more inward to be flat.
The battery strap rubs against the servo saver. The front shocks need some limiters since the lowest ride height is a bit too high.
I only did a little run around the living room. It sounds a little off. I am not sure if it's because I don't have the sensor cable hooked up, the spur is a bit stripped, or something else. I have an 85 tooth Robinson absolute spur that I'm going to swap in.
I swapped in the new spur and it darn quiet except for the tires
Did anyone every make tougher spur gears in 48 pitch for old stealth? I see a bunch of options of the b4 style slippers.

Re: RC10T2 Basher
The regular AE/Kimbrough spurs fit fine. The inner holes line up perfect. The AE gears are the exact same as the Kimbrough but are cheaper in Associated packaging.
